10/31/13: Planet Sock Monkey by Patch Products

Sock Monkeys have come a long way.  We recently received a Planet Sock Monkey by Patch Products.  We received Magenta Beetsch and I knew Lauren would like her as she is a punk band drummer and has cool magenta hair.
Lauren was having fun playing with her.  How super cute is she?
I love that they have little personalities.  Magenta is in a band called The Sweaty Sox and she is the drummer.
Magenta Beetsch is rockin’ her punk style skirt and boots, tattoo and piercings, and has a scary cute skull purse.  Lauren loves all the little details and had her dancing around.
Lauren was being silly with her.
She really liked her purse and hair and played with her for a while.
 Here she is as packaged.
Here is the whole collection.  They are all adorable.
Give them some love online:

10/29/13: Minnie Mouse Cheerin' Minnie

We love Disney characters, especially Mickey and Minnie.  In fact one year my kids dressed up as Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse for Halloween.  Recently we received Fisher Price Minnie Mouse Cheerin' Minnie and had fun playing with her.  She is next up in my Holiday Gift Guide as a great pre-school gift and also on the 2013 Disney Holiday Gifts - Disney Dozen.
We all know that Minnie is Mickey's number one fan so why wouldn't she cheer for him.
What is funny is that tonight we were watching "Good Luck Charlie" on Disney Channel and it was about cheering so Lauren had some moves ready to do with Minnie.
She even sings the hit song “Hey Mickey!” along with 3 pom-pom shaking positions.  Lauren was having fun singing along with her and doing cheers with her.
Look at that smile!  Lauren thought she was adorable.
Here she is hanging with Minnie.  She tried to tell her what to do which was humorous.  Of course Minnie couldn't follow along.
She was having so much fun with her.
She was even lifting her above her head as cheerleaders do.
Funny girl!
Here is some video of a sampling of Minnie:
She retails for $44.99  Even better the 4 “AA” batteries are included.
She is super cute!
Here she is as packaged.

10/28/13: Glitzi Globes from Moose Toys

My daughter loves glittery pretty things.  I guess what girl doesn't?  She also loves doing crafts.  I love that Glitzi Globes from Moose Toys combines a toy and a craft.  Making the toy is half the fun.  We received the Starter Kit that makes 4 globes and it is next up in my Holiday Gift Guide.
I have to admit that I was a little skeptical at first that it might be messy, but it is not.  Plus it is super easy for little ones to make.  It starts with putting 3 little charms in to the plastic dome.  At $14.99 it is the perfect gift for a school holiday party, or birthday gifts along with an additional pack.
Then it is time to fill the dome with water.  They give you a nice little squirt bottle to put the water in.  Even if you miss a little it pours in to the little compartment around where the dome goes.
Then you put a small glitter tablet in to the water.  It will dissolve and make the glitter for the globe.
Then you can put a little figure in to your globe.  You pick one and attach it to the small disk that goes on the bottom.  Lauren thought these were adorable.
Here is Lauren putting the figure on to the small disk and attaching the disk to the globe maker.  She loved putting them together and thought it was super easy.  She couldn't wait to show us her creations.
Here it is ready to be made.  You can see the charms and glitter tablet in the water globe on the left and the right has the bottom with the little figure.
Then you just press the green side on to the pink and the bottom affixes to the globe.
There are six themes and 18 characters to collect. The starter pack comes with 4 Clear Domes, 4 Base Plates, 1 Glitzi Base, 4 Characters, 12 Deco Shapes, 5 Glitter Tablets, 1 Ring, 1 Necklace, 1 Bracelet, Water Bottle, and Globe Maker.  Here are her creations.
She was very excited with how cute they are and that she can wear them.
Here is what the starter pack looks like as packaged.

10/27/13: 8th Annual Monster Mash Halloween Costume Party

Every year we have Evan and Lauren's Monster Mash Halloween Costume Party.  Today we had our party and had a ton of fun making crafts, playing games, and decorating cupcakes.
Even Fred dressed up this year as a Hot Dog.  Here he is with the kids ready for the party.
The kids were very excited to welcome their friends for some fun.
Ready for pizza with fun Halloween music playing in the background.
All the kids looked adorable in their costumes.
 Evan looking adorable as always.
 Fred the Hot Dog!
Having fun with craft time.  We made little hanging bats/ghosts/pumpkins/cats and also a ghost little decoration.
 Some finished crafts.
 Evan and his buddy Molly.
 They are all so adorable!
Unbelievable having them all in one place.
 Decorating cupcakes time.
Here is the cake.  It is so easy to make with Oreo cookie crumbs as the dirt and chocolate frosting and yellow cake.
What a fun party!  Can't wait till next years!
