10/31/15: Marvel Universe Live Excitement and Marvel Characters

We love to go to live shows with the kids and the other night we got to go to Marvel Universe Live! at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH. This is a new show by Feld Entertainment that brings together the most Marvel characters in the same production. There was excitement, good guys, bad guys, lots of cool stunts and motorcycles!
The projections were pretty cool to begin to tell the story. The kids were entralled from the start of the show.
At the beginning Thor smashes the Cosmic Cube to ensure they don't get in to the wrong hands.
Loki has other plans.  To defeat Loki, Marvel’s greatest Super Heroes must band together and trek across the globe to retrieve the Cosmic Cube fractals and unite them.
Capturing the good guys.
Woo hoo! Iron Man! He is my favorite.
Captain Marvel flying through the air.
Captain America on a motorcycle. There are lots of motorcycle stunts.
All the Marvel characters meet to figure out a plan how to find the fractals. They get put in small groups and go off to find them.
The action is awesome and kept the kids entertained through the whole show. There was so much going on and such great stunts and cool special effects.
Doctor Aldrich Killian is actually on fire!
Here is Iron Man, Captain Marvel and Hawkeye.
There were some really cool motorcycle stunts. This is Wolverine and Bruce Banner (Hulk). They did flips and lots of ramp work.
Here you can see the Statue of Liberty when they went to battle to get a fractal in New York.
There were ramps inside the Statue of Liberty and here you can see Spider-Man hanging down.
The Marvel characters fought on the ramps inside the statue and on top of the statue.
Another bad guy Red Skull holding on to one of the fractals.
The motorcycle tricks were awesome.
They went up the ramp and then jumped to those platforms on the motorcycles.
There were lots of kids in the audience dressed up like their favorite characters, it was super cute.
Oh dear, Loki has Spider-Man!
Now he has Wolverine!
Don't worry though Hulk is coming to save the day!
We couldn't wait for Hulk to grow! So awesome.
You will have to check out the show to see how it ends! I highly suggest going to see it. It is fun for the whole family.

9/28/15: Evan in Disney's Hollywood Studios Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show

We recently went to Walt Disney World and had a wonderful time as always.  This visit was a little bit more magical as Evan was selected to be in the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show.  This was a once in a lifetime experience and one that he was very lucky to be selected for.
Every time we go to Disney's Hollywood Studios we make sure to check the schedule for Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show as it only happens a couple times a day.  This is Evan's favorite show at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  We headed over to the show about a half hour early to make sure we got a good seat.
We had awesome seats.  We were up maybe 6 rows and right in the middle of the stadium.  Honestly we were just lucky to get the seats we got.  When you enter Cast Members direct you to which entrance you will go in through.  We were directed to the middle.  This was the first time we went in through the middle.  It is a huge stadium that fills up for each show.
We love the show and we were well aware that they call one child up from the audience to be in the show.  Our seats were in line with a row that had a small door and said Cast Members only and we were on the left of the door when looking at the stands.  When the video person started aiming the camera around our row I made sure to point to Evan and Evan stood up and raised his hands.  We couldn't believe he got picked!  I am not sure if this is always the section they take a volunteer from, but for us we were in the exact row that the camera man was aiming at when picking someone.
This is the part of the show where a child gets to drive a real car via remote control.
Here they are describing to Evan what he will do.
Now Evan is using the remote control to control the car.
The coolest thing is that you get a special pin that only can be obtained by being the guest driver in this show.
So cool that he is up on the big screen.
Here is a close up of the pin.
Evan being brought back to his seat.
He was so excited and people were even coming up to him in the park that recognized him from the show.  He felt like a celebrity.
Here is Evan with one of the guys from the show.
Here is some video.
Here is the Finale, I think the flames look like a Mickey Mouse head.  So cool!  Another Hidden Mickey!
What an amazing experience and an absolutely magical day!

10/12/15: Roger Williams Park Zoo Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular The People's Choice

Last night we went to the Roger Williams Park Zoo Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular with the theme The People's Choice.  We go every year and I am always in amazement what they come up with.
When we arrived we walked along a path to the Harvest Buffet and saw the largest pumpkin we ever saw.  After eating we went over to see the elephants and a minion.
On weekends there is a Harvest Buffet.  You go in at 5 pm and get VIP entry to the Spectacular.  You can find more information here on the Harvest Buffet.  It runs on Friday-Sundays through October 30th.  The food was good with options of hot dogs, cheeseburgers, turkey, pulled pork and sides.  Everyone found something they liked.  Plus there were many drink options and apple crisp or a brownie for dessert.
If you can't go to the Harvest Buffet I highly suggest you go on a weekday.  Attendance is much lighter during the week and the quality is the same as daily they are fixing any pumpkins that need fixing.  When we left last night on a Sunday of the holiday weekend at 7:15 the line was about two hours long.  Roger Williams Park Zoo was posting updates on their Facebook page so tune in there for updates.  We started on the path in light but then it darkened as we went on.
“The People’s Choice” theme featured subjects the public especially loved throughout the past 27 years of shows.
They had some wonderful pumpkin carvings as always.
I love the themed areas.  Here was this cool undersea area.

This was one of my favorites!  Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!
Here is a sampling of more awesome carvings.
Awesome!
I loved the Sleepy Hollow area also with Jack-O-Lanterns hanging from the trees.

 Gorgeous reflection of carved Jack-O-Lanterns.
Loved this area also.
My favorite part is always the Laughing Tree.  It is the most amazing sight and is so hard to capture with pictures.  I have some video at the end of the post also.
Totally gorgeous!

There was lots of smoke coming from this big Jack-O-Lantern.  Plus he changed colors.
Here are some more details:
