Win 4 Tickets to Cirque du Soleil Corteo

CONTEST CLOSED: CONGRATULATIONS LORRAINE P
I love Cirque du Soleil shows. We have attended many of them and always enjoy the mixture of talent in the show. Now I am offering my readers a chance to win 4 tickets to Corteo on Thursday, January 3rd at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA!
More about the show:
Corteo is coming to Worcester at the DCU Center from January 3rd to the 6th! This unique production, directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, first premiered in Montreal under the Big Top in April 2005. Since then, the show has been a great success and has amazed 8 million people in 19 countries on four continents.
Corteo, which means cortege in Italian, is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown. The show brings together the passion of the actor with the grace and power of the acrobat to plunge the audience into a theatrical world of fun, comedy and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth.
The clown pictures his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, watched over by quietly caring angels. Juxtaposing the large with the small, the ridiculous with the tragic and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection, the show highlights the strength and fragility of the clown, as well as his wisdom and kindness, to illustrate the portion of humanity that is within each of us. The music turns lyrical and playful carrying Corteo through a timeless celebration in which illusion teases reality.
The concept and disposition of the stage bring the audience in a theatrical atmosphere like never seen before in Cirque du Soleil arena shows. The set curtains, inspired by the Eiffel Tower, and the central curtains, which were hand painted, give a grandiose feel to the stage. This sets the tone for the poetry of Corteo.
The cast of Corteo includes 51 acrobats, musicians, singers and actors from all around the world. Sponsor Cirque du Soleil gratefully acknowledges the official partner of the Corteo USA tour: Sirius.
Show Schedule: Thursday, January 3, 2019 – 7:30 pm,  Friday, January 4, 2019 –3:30 pm, 7:30 pm,  Saturday, January 5, 2019 – 3:30 pm 7:30 pm,  Sunday, January 6, 2019 – 1:00 pm, 5:00 pm

Rock of Ages Rocks Boston

Last night we got to rock out at Rock of Ages at the Boch Center Wang Theatre! It felt like being at an 80's rock concert and a musical which was fantastic! The show is only here until the 28th so get your tickets now!
The music from this show will have you rocking in your seats. I know I was.
Two standouts are Anthony Nuccio as Drew Boley, and Katie LaMark as Sherrie Christian who were fantastic. Their voices were so good. At one point Anthony held a note for a good two minutes, it was amazing!
John-Michael Breen was fabulous as Lonny. He was hilarious and I loved his talking directly to the audience.
Sam Harvey as Stacee Jaxx was so good. I loved his look and his singing.
Chris Renalds as Franz made me laugh out loud numerous time.
We were lucky enough to attend a reception before the show sponsored by show sponsor Smirnoff and food from event partner P.F. Changs.
We got to try out their Spiked Sparkling Seltzer which was refreshing.
Now we were ready for the show.

Can you handle Screeemfest at Canobie Lake Park?

I have been going to Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH since I was a little kid. Now it is so much fun to take my kids. We recently went for Screeemfest and had so much fun.
It was a perfect fall day. The lines weren't bad throughout the park and at night there is an option to experience scares. If you don't want to go in the haunted houses or be scared that is ok too even if you are there are Screeemfest starts.  You can also buy a necklace to keep spooks away and you can avoid the haunted attractions.  But if you like to be scared it is the perfect place!
We went to the park near opening time at 1 pm to get a jump on all the rides.
Star Blaster was a big hit.
We also went on one of the newest rides, Ice Jet.  It was so much fun.  It goes forward and backward.
We also rode the Caterpillar which is one of my childhood favorites.
What gorgeous views from the Sky Ride.  You can see all the rides here.
It may look very quaint and pretty but just wait till the darkness begins.
There were haunts at every turn.  But don't worry they were all stationary.
The haunts that don't move are fine with me.
So cool looking.

I like this guy.

If haunts aren't your thing not to worry, there is also a petting zoo for the kids.  It is tucked in the back corner of the park behind Untamed.  It is open on Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 pm.

I love these two!  They are so adorable!
There were also some non scary characters hanging around and they did a show.
Molly the mouse was even dressed up.
But then night fell...da da da!  There were spooks that came out too scaring people.  We mostly saw them at the front of the park and near the haunted attractions.  One guy had a chain saw and it was funny to hear people running as he came near them.  You can buy a glow necklace at the front of the park for $5 so that the spooks won't come up  to you.
There are 5 haunts at night.  You can see the details here of all of them.
We took a walk around the park at night but the kids were too scared for the haunted houses, and if I am honest so was I! The Village looked like another spooky area that would bring the scare.
So many scares.
They even have a little parade of haunts at night that we saw.
Here is some video when they made it to the front of the park.

You can have a spooky good time.  If kids are too afraid make sure to buy the necklace and just don't go in the scares.

Enter if you dare!
