10/5/10: Kids Halloween Events

I have posted holiday event posts in the past and gotten good reviews so I thought I would share with my readers again some Halloween Family Friendly activities coming up.


Of course check out your libraries too as there are many Halloween Storytimes, Parties, Make and Takes, etc going on:


Roger Williams Zoo Pumpkin Festival October 7 – October 31st, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. (last entry at 10 p.m.) Experience the glow of thousands of pumpkins, set in a magical display of artistry during this night-time Spectacular. Don’t miss this unique, family friendly evening event, commended by the U.S. Library of Congress, featured by The Early Show, CNN and the Associated Press and hailed by USA Today as “extraordinary.”:

Krochmal Farm Trick or Treat Hayride October 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th and October 30th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring your children on a 25 to 30 minute hayride through a wooded trail to meet their favorite characters and receive treats from them! :

Stone Zoo Boo at the Zoo Oct 23-24 11-3 We went last year and had fun.Thrills, chills and animals lurk around every corner on the trick-or-treat trail while Radio Disney gets everyone in the mood to dance and have fun at the main stage.:

Franklin Park Zoo Howl Oct 30-31 11-3 The haunted happenings include creature encounters, creepy crafts, ghoulish games and a trick-or-treat trail. Radio Disney will spin spine-tingling tunes and host the howling and costume contests on the main stage.:

Smolak Farms Trick or Treat hayride October 23, 24, 30 & 31 (weather permitting) Time: 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Children come to the farm (costumes are encouraged), board a wagon and begin their adventure with a hayride into one of our orchards. There they will be greeted by storybook and Disney characters.:

Drumlin Farm Tales of the Night Oct. 28-29 6:30-9:00 We went last year and had fun. The event's centerpiece, the Haunted Hayride, pulls visitors along through a series of Halloween skits in Drumlin's fields, lit by bonfires and jack-o-lanterns.:
