4/3/12: Dr. Panda, Teach Me Application Review

I don't know about you but my kids are always taking my iPhone to play games.  So why not have them play a learning game.  I was lucky to find a new application called Dr. Panda, Teach Me - Preschool from TribePlay.
My daughter Lauren is almost 5 years old and this application is intended for ages 2 through 5 so I gave it to her to try.  The game was very intuitive for her and she really enjoyed playing it.  I saw her play with it much more than she has with other apps I have tried and she was so proud to show me each of the games and how good she was at them.  I love the positive reinforcement of clapping when they get something right.
The nice thing about this app is that aside from the games there are several scenes with animals that she could interact with.  Her favorite is a Panda Bear that you an crack around him and he falls through and goes in to the water.  She giggles and makes sure to show me each time she does it.  The other part she really enjoyed is as you do well on games you receive an animal that you can add to your Zoo.  She gets so excited to build up her Zoo with animals and move them all around.
There are also lots of games for you to chose from.  Lauren especially loves the puzzle and the hide and seek game. She liked playing the matching card game too.  A quote from her “This game is awesome”.  Even my 6 year old son at one point played it for a bit as he was intrigued with what his sister was doing.  Now he keeps wanting to play to build up her Zoo for her.  Here is a screenshot from the iTunes page of what the game looks like on iPhones.  Note it can also be played on iPads.
You can see the full description on the iTunes Page, but here are some highlights: Touch and Discover, Rewards, Differences (Bigger/Smaller), Patterns and Matching, Memory and Logic, Puzzles, Numbers and Colors.

This application only costs $1.99 but there is also a Free lite version if you would like to try it out first.
Here is a video to demonstrate the application:

Disclosure:  I received this application and was sponsored by TribePlay for my post.  All opinions are my own and that of my child.
