Would you love to take your kids to the beloved Fenway Park but find it is too expensive to go to a game when you don't even know if they will sit for the whole time to watch it? I have a great family friendly option for you! Futures at Fenway at Fenway Park on Saturday, August 18th. Here are my kids on their first trip to Fenway Park when we attended last year.
The event features a doubleheader starting at 1:05 p.m., game one will feature the Red Sox A affiliate Lowell Spinners taking on the Hudson Valley Renegades from the Tampa Bay Rays organization. The second game will showcase the AAA Pawtucket Red Sox battling the Buffalo Bisons, an affiliate from the New York Mets organization.
The best part about this day is that you can enjoy moderate ticket prices of $5 to $30. You can buy your tickets here.
Concessions are also discounted. Last year they had a kids meal which included a small drink, hot dog, and cotton candy for only $5, Hot Dogs were discounted to $2.50 from $5 and drinks only $2.25. I also signed the kids up for Red Sox Nation. It was only $15 each and included a lunch box, Red Sox hat, and other discounts to area museums and Red Sox games. I see on their website now that it is normally $25.
There were little games going on in between innings also to keep the kids entertained. Here is Wally and the Portland Sea Dog. Plus there are on-field promotions and bring your pen, paper and baseballs for autograph sessions with the stars from both games.
What a fun time for the kids first trip to Fenway, and much more family budget friendly than a Red Sox game.
Disclosure: I received four tickets to Futures at Fenway to promote it. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.
I lived in MA for 37 years & haven't been inside Fenway. I've been outside (Landsdown st).
