9/4/12: King Richard's Faire in Carver, MA Discount Code

Over the Labor Day Weekend we went to King Richard's Faire in Carver, MA.  This was our first time going so I didn't know what to expect.  When I walked in I was struck by how you really felt transported to another time.  It was beautiful inside and had many stages and things to do for both kids and adults.

This Faire is the longest running Renaissance Festival and just opened the season and runs through October 21st on weekends and Columbus Day.  Tucked away on 80 acres of beautiful, enchanted forest off Rt. 58,  King Richard’s Faire is a full day of live, interactive entertainment for all ages, including exotic tigers and a rare liger, daring knights jousting on horseback, and eight stages filled with song and dance.  Here is King Richard himself!  I really enjoyed the stage show that he was in.  The whole cast had wonderful voices and the live music was wonderful.

The music in this show was rock, and many styles that I did not expect.  I really laughed during it and the show was done in two acts.  One was done earlier in the day, and then the rest was done later in the day.
We attended both halfs of the show and really enjoyed it.
The kids enjoyed it too.  I do want to share that there are many shows.  In some of them the performers will hold out their hats at the end of the show for tips.  You should bring some small dollar bills with you to be prepared for this.
One of my favorite things was the Jousting.  It was really cool to watch and Dame Eliza won the match we watched.  Girl power!
It was so much fun and put you in the middle of the action.
Here is a slide show with more pictures from the Joust.

Here is some video of the Joust.

They also had a lot for the kids.  There was archery which was $4 for 12 arrows.
Lauren and Evan had fun doing this.
There were rides - for an additional fee.  Usually around $2-$4.  Cash only.
There were meet and greets.  Here are the kids with a Cyclops.  Pretty weird looking huh?
There was Princess Academy and an opportunity to meet Queen Anne!
 Lauren hanging with the Princesses!
I don't know what this is supposed to be, but Evan thought it was cool.
Oh no poor Evan is locked up!
 And so is Lauren!
There was even a duel right in front of us!  Evan got to get involved.
 Even Daddy got involved!
This was honestly the highlight of Evan's day.
 He had so much fun!
Tickets are $27 for adults and $15 for children.  You must pay cash so make sure you have cash with you.  I personally enjoyed it but I did think it was a bit pricey between tickets, food, drinks, shows, rides, and activities for kids.
I do have a discount code for you that saves you $4 off the regular $27 admission price however there is a $2 convenience fee per ticket:

Check out how cool it looks!  There are tons of shops with really cool stuff.
The food area.  Note that you need to buy tickets to buy food.  All tickets cost .50 cents and are used to buy food and drink.  I found this annoying that you had to use tickets as the minimum amount was $5 worth and you had to figure out exactly what you wanted first to calculate how many tickets you needed.
 So pretty.
 Cool tree!
