3/1/13: Wreck-It Ralph Coming to DVD and Blu-ray

I was able to receive an advanced copy from Disney of WRECK-IT RALPH Blu-ray and DVD Ultimate Collectors Edition.  We were also able to see this movie in advance of it releasing and the kids and I loved it.
HD Digital and HD Digital 3D Versions are already available.  The Blu-ray and On-Demand Debuts March 5th.  We have already watched it twice since receiving it.  It takes kids/adults/game enthusiasts in to the arcade and literally in to the game.  It is so fun to watch the old graphics we used to play with when we were kids and see favorite characters like Q*bert, the ghosts from Pac-Man, and Bowser from Mario.
Ralph had so much heart in the movie and just wanted to be seen for a hero once by the characters in his game Fix It Felix.  In an interview with John C Reilly he said: "I liked that the heart of my character ended up staying intact. I’m also really proud of the fact that the scenes in the movie that have the most stillness and heart are scenes that I’m in."  It really did come through as I had some tears in my eyes at the end.

I love Vanellope von Schweetz also.  She just wanted to be accepted and be able to race like everyone else.  She just wants to fit in, similar to how Ralph feels.  I loved seeing that play out through the movie.  Sara Silverman said she identified with her as "Vanellope is this obnoxious, precocious, scrappy, tough kid. Like most tough kids, she’s a scared little girl underneath. She’s protecting something with that toughness. I think everybody can relate to that, especially when you’re young."
It really is a wonderful movie.
Jane Lynch who plays Sergeant Calhoun said "Wreck-It Ralph is a visually beautiful movie and it’s also a most moving tale. You’ll really grow to love Ralph and identify with him, as well as all of the other characters in the movie. It’s great!" and I couldn't agree more.
