5/5/13: California Science Center and the Space Shuttle Endeavour

Next up in our whirlwind tour of California was going to the California Science Center to see the Space Shuttle Endeavour.
I went to school for Aerospace Engineering and always marvel at these amazing machines!  Here are the kids posing in front.
Here is John and the kids with the Space Shuttle.
Here are me and the kids with the Space Shuttle.
 So amazing!
 Lauren posing with an engine.
It was absolutely amazing to watch how they brought the Space Shuttle to the California Science Center through the streets of LA in the little movie they had before you entered the area to see it.
Tickets are free to see the Space Shuttle you just need to reserve them in advance online.  I am not sure if show up the day of if they would be available.  It gives you a time to enter the exhibit.
They have big plans to change this exhibit and have the Space Shuttle upright.  You can read more here about that.
So breathtaking to see up close.
LOVE!
Plus there is more to see at the museum.  One of the areas that was a hit with the kids was the aquarium tank with a diver that went in and answered questions.
It was cool watching her point out stuff in the tank.
Plus the kids got to give her a high five after.
 So cool.
 Evan checking out another tank.
 Lauren exploring and investigating.
A picture of the Space Shuttle coming through the streets of LA.  I wish I could have seen it.  They had a whole display of pictures from the Endeavour's mission to get to the California Space Center.
Evan posing with a picture of the Space Shuttle being brought there.
This fountain was outside the museum and was so pretty.  When we came out we could see a rainbow through it.
Here is a view of the rose garden behind the museum and you can see the California Space Center behind it.
Evan being silly posing with a Dino sculpture outside the Natural History Museum.
What a cool place.  I highly recommend checking out the California Science Center.
