8/2/14: Belkin Family Lookout Farm Fun

We were extremely lucky to be invited to Belkin Family Lookout Farm in South Natick, MA for a wonderful event to explore the farm.  The farm just started their daily hours on August 1st for the season and will be open every day from 10 am to 5 pm.  This farm has plenty of family fun plus great fruit to pick.  The farm was established in 1651 and is one of the oldest continuously working farms in the country.
There are lots of cute places for the kids to pose for pictures.
Evan especially liked this cool tractor.
We even got to meet Amy Belkin and her husband.  Amy was really nice and even went and got us another bag when Evan had such large apples they didn't fit in the bag we had.
First we headed out to the Children's Play Area.
We took the train to get there and got some beautiful views of the orchard along the way.
I love that all the walkways have grapes hanging above.
The kids area has so many fun things to do including farm animals, burlap maze, hay pyramid, Camel and Pony rides, a bounce house, caterpillar ride, climbing structures and new Lego tables.  Plus there is live children's entertainment and face painting.
We have gone to the farm before and I love this picture of the kids in the Caterpillar back in 2009 and now.
The Caterpillar coming around.
Another picture of Lauren from 2009 and now.
Here is the bounce house.
Lauren having fun bouncing away.
Plus the burlap maze is lots of fun for kids.

Farm animals.  Evan got quite a following here.
Love this!
Lauren saying hi to the goats too.
On weekends they also offer a barbecue lunch.  They also sell homemade gelato which was really good.  Lauren has vanilla.
Evan had strawberry.
Then we walked over to where there is fruit picking.
We started with some apples.  There were two varieties to pick.  There were Pristine Apples and Dandee Red Apples.
The kids really found some huge apples.  Plus the trees are all nice and short so that kids can reach all of the fruit.
Evan was proud of this one.
Lauren picking some apples.
There was great picking!
Rows and rows of apples as far as the eye could see.
Yum!
We also picked white peaches which were really juicy and yummy!  You can see Lauren with a peach here.
Evan is proud of all of his apples.
Seriously look at these apples!
Good one Lauren!  This is a Dandee Red one.
There is also a farm store with lots of great goodies.  This Pumpkin Butter looks so good!
You can also purchase the Farm's all-new Season pass for $149.  It includes unlimited admission for a family of four, a canvas tote, $50 off a child's birthday part, $25 off a cord of firewood, and special VIP passholder entrance.  There is also a two-day pass for $69 for a family of four.
What a beautiful farm!
By mid-September the U-Pick season will have Asian pears, 11 varieties of apples and more than 25,000 pumpkins.
