8/6/14: Whaler's Inn Mystic, CT A Lovely Place to Stay

While we were in Mystic, CT we stayed at the Whaler's Inn.  What a lovely place to stay.  Not only was it a great Inn but it was in a prime location right in Downtown Mystic.
The Whaler’s Inn is Downtown Mystic’s largest inn and the Main Inn was built in 1910. The property is situated just half a block from the Historic Bascule Drawbridge and Scenic Mystic River.  Make sure to  check out their specials before travelling.  Right now they have a summer time sailing special.  You can read more here.
So close that we heard the drawbridge going up and walked to our door to see it.  Here was the view from our room of the drawbridge.
There are several areas.  We were in the Stonington House which had just undergone a change of look.  The  rooms have a fresh new color scheme, carpeting, artwork, linens, wall mounted televisions and central air-conditioning and heating system.  I learned that not all buildings allow families.  Read here on specifics.
The kids settled right in checking out the beds.  We had a room with two queen beds.  Parking, free wireless access and continental breakfast all are included with your stay.
The bathroom was really lovely with an ample size shower and beautiful smelling soap.
It was so clean and modern after this recent refresh.
Here you can see the TV in the room and little desk.
I love the shell lamp.
I would say Lauren approves of her bed.  The beds were very comfortable and I had no trouble sleeping.
It is so close to everything.  You can walk to restaurants, shops and Drawbridge Ice Cream which has awesome homemade ice cream.  The Aquarium and other attractions are only minutes away by car.
Here you can see the street view from the Inn.  We didn't utilize it but the Inn also offers complimentary "Around-the-town" adult bicycles.
At night we went for a walk.  This anchor is right across the street from the Inn.
Here is a lovely view of the Inn at night.
Another view with the on-site Four-Star Restaurant Bravo Bravo.
I never have high hopes for continental breakfasts however this one was really good!
There were Bagels, Egg sandwiches on a biscuit, waffles, bread, English muffins, fruit, cereal, chocolate chip bread and danish.
There was also coffee, juice, milk and water.
Plus a little fridge with yogurts, fruit and V8s.
Here you can see the juices and danish.
We had a lovely stay and I would highly recommend staying here.
