8/7/14: Fabulous Dinner at the Harbour House

While we were in Mystic CT we had the pleasure of eating dinner at the Harbour House.  The food was amazing and so was the location.  They just went through a huge renovation and the restaurant was lovely.
Here is a view from the outside.  There is ample parking outside and it is close to Mystic Seaport and the Mystic Aquarium.
Here is the entrance area where you check in.  When we entered we were greeted by a very friendly hostess.  We had a reservation and only waited a few moments to be seated.  The hostess was really nice and even complimented my shoes.
Here is some of the seating area with a view of the pool.
Here is a view in to the bar dining area.
Our seating had a lovely view of the waterfront.
They left a beautiful bottle of water at our table.  The bread and infused oil was amazing also.
We started out with a lovely bottle of Pinot Grigio.  They also have 24 beers on Tap.  The service at the restaurant was absolutely perfect.  There were two servers waiting on us and very attentive.  We also had the Manager come over several times to check in on us.
I had the Clam Chowder for an appetizer and it truly was one of the best clam chowders I have had.
My husband got the scallops wrapped in bacon.  It had a pomegranate molasses glaze.  My only complaint is that the skillet was so hot that if you tried to put more glaze on the scallops they were super hot.
Lauren loving the view.
For dinner I had the Filet of Beef with a Gorgonzola Sauce.  It was amazing!  The meat was so tender and cooked perfectly.  The sauce was amazing.  My husband was laughing at me as I was dipping everything in to it including the vegetables and potatoes.  You can see their full menu here.

My husband had the Swordfish and said it was excellent.
They also had an extensive kids menu.  My son had the cheeseburger with smiley fries and my daughter had the chicken fingers.  Both kids ate the majority of their food so I would say they gave it a thumbs up.  Despite the fact the food was "fine dining" the ambiance was casual and I didn't feel out of place there with children.
My husband and I split the souffle.  My kids both had vanilla ice cream with hot fudge which came with their meals.  The desert was really good.
Here is a view outside after we ate dinner.  It really is lovely.
They also have a cute deck for dining.
The lovely view outside.  What a fabulous night and a wonderful dinner.
I would highly suggest eating there if you are in Mystic, CT.
