11/16/14: Family Game Night With Wonder Forge's Disney Games

We love having Family Game Night.  Recently we received some great Disney games from Wonder Forge.  These are great games and wonderful holiday gifts.  We started with Pictopia: Disney Edition Trivia Game Trivia which was lots of fun for the whole family.
I love that the game has the classic Disney films in addition to the latest even Frozen.  Plus there are even questions around the theme parks.  Players take turns being the host and asking the question. Each card has a picture of 4 characters and each person chooses how many spots (1-5) that they want to bid on the question.  There are even some questions where you need to determine what others many answer.  Sometimes you’ll have to answer questions all on your own, and other times you’ll work as a team to answer correctly!  Answer questions correctly to advance your mover and get to the castle space first to win!  It’s a game of teamwork—with a competitive twist!  There is even more content with the Pictopia App (available on Android and iOS) that includes a nail-biting Final Challenge round to take board game play to the next level!
My kids loved it when we played.  Here it is as packaged and retails for $19.99.
Next is Disney Frozen Surprise Slides Game.  Any Frozen fans will love this one.  It is a modern take on Chutes and Ladders where players advance by moving their Frozen characters along a game board by spinning a wheel.
There are colors and snowflakes to move forward to.
The difference is there are times a spin means to flip all the pieces to a different path.  It could mean just flip one or flip all four.  Here you can see Lauren flipping them so that now the paths are different.  What used to be a move forward may now be a slide backward.
Here are the cute little characters including Kristoff, Anna, Olaf, and Elsa.
Lauren and Evan loved playing it.  Perfect for little ones ages 3 and up.  They just may need some help popping out the four panels to flip them.
It is sold only at Target and retails for $11.99.  The perfect gift for your little ones this holiday season.
Next up are some Star Wars Games.  First is a Star Wars Face Off Dice Game.  This is a great travel game.
You put all the dice in to the collectible dice cup featuring back-to-back sculpted visages of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker and roll the dice.  You can gain points by rolling combinations of heroes Han Solo, Chewbacca, R2-D2 and Luke or roll the villains.
There are different point values assigned and you can re roll up to three of the dice to get the combination on the card.
Here you can see the cup.
Super cool looking!
Here it is as packaged.  It retails for $11.99.
Next up is the Star Wars Force Grab Game.  In this game you have small pieces that represent Star Wars icons and players race to spot when an object matches the pictures.
When you match an object to the card you grab the correct Lightsabers that match the color that the object is on in the card.  You are looking for orientation of the item, not just that the item is there.
Here it is as packaged.  It retails for $16.99.
Last but not least is Star Wars Rebel Missions Game.  What I liked about this game is that it is a cooperative team where you work as a team to unlock codes and race against the clock.
The electronic audio device plays the whole time as players roll the dice and collect cards with powers.  When a missions is completed you enter the codes in to the device and it either gives you a chime or a buzz.
We all had fun playing.  The audio device does take 3 AA batteries that are not included.
Here it is as packaged.  It retails for $19.99.
All of these games are great for Family Game Night and great holiday gifts!
