7/6/15: Conway Scenic Railroad Valley Train in NH

Evan has had a love of trains since he was little.  He thoroughly enjoys going on a train ride and I love them too.  Next up in my series of posts about family fun in New Hampshire is the Conway Scenic Railroad Valley 55 minute round trip to Conway.  You can find all schedules on their website and I also have reviews on my blog linked in this post to all of their excursions.  Plus Thomas the Tank Engine is on his way to North Conway and will be there on July 17th!  We love going to this event.  Check the events calendar.
What a beautiful train.  It is like taking a little step back in time.
The Valley Train is a great option if you are not sure how long kids can be entertained on the train.  There are two excursions, Conway which is 55 minutes and Bartlett which is one hour and 3/4.  Here is my review of the Bartlett excursion.  If you are interested in a longer ride here is my review of the Crawford Notch 5 hour ride.  There are also dining options which can be found here.
Here is some video of our ride.

The kids were ready to go.
We traveled in class on the Pullman Parlor-Observation Car Gertrude Emma.  There are options to travel Coach or First Class.  I highly recommend the First Class.
This car was built in 1898 for use on the "Pennsylvania Limited" and has been restored and has comfortable wicker chairs as seating.
It really is a beautiful car with lots of beauty to look at.  There is also a snack bar on this car.
There is an open observation deck.
The intricate details of the ceiling was beautiful.
The part I enjoy the most is the beautiful views from the train.
It is like looking at a post card as you look out the window.
 So beautiful.
The whole family loves to watch when the engine is brought around and hooked on to the other side of the train for the trip back.  This is the highlight for any budding Train Engineer or Train Enthusiast.
The kids watching it hook back up.
We are all ready for our return trip.
There is a little museum in the main building that is cool to check out.
We also always head to the back area and check out the trains.  This time there was one on the roundabout also.
I highly suggest taking a train ride through the Conway Scenic Railroad if you are in the area.
The kids will love it and so will you!
