8/18/16: Singin' in the Rain at the North Shore Music Theatre

I have been going to shows at the North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) for many years and they never disappoint with fabulous shows.  I was able to attend Singin' in the Rain and it was absolutely amazing!  Plus it does rain on stage!  Read till the end and I will disclose the line up of shows for 2017.

Every time I go to shows at the North Shore Music Theatre I am always amazed with the awesome props, costumes, and production value.
I must start with the highlight of the show watching Mark Evans as Don Lockwood performing Singin' in the Rain!  It was truly magical with the rain pouring down and those iconic moves from Gene Kelly.  The movie is a bit before my time however I watched the YouTube Video of Gene Kelly and Mark did an awesome job!
Honestly one of my favorite characters was Sean McGibbon who played Cosmo Brown.  His facial expressions were perfect and so like Donald O'Connor.  "Make 'Em Laugh" was so perfect.  His expressions were so big and bold and he was such a comical and lovable character.
Tessa Grady played Kathy Selden and had a beautiful voice and was a great dancer.  Such a great performance and up to par with Debbie Reynolds.  She had a wonderful presence on the stage.  The tap numbers were amazing.
There was such a great relationship portrayed by Sean McGibbon (Cosmo), Tessa Grady (Kathy) and Mark Evans (Don) and I loved their performance of Good Morning.
Another wonderful character was Emily Stockdale as Lina Lamont.  Her voice was perfection!  She was funny and someone that you wanted to hate but she was just too funny.
Another exciting addition to the cast was David Coffee as Roscoe Dexter.  He is wonderful in A Christmas Carol.  He received a lot of applause when he took the stage.
Plus new this season children 18 and under save 50% on all evening shows!  What a perfect way to take your kids to the theater!
This show runs until August 28th so get your tickets now

More about the show:
1920s Hollywood is the setting for SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, a zany, light-hearted romantic comedy about the early days of sound film, when many a movie studio found itself scrambling to salvage the career of its chipmunk-voiced silent picture star. The MGM classic has been faithfully and lovingly adapted by Broadway legends Betty Comden and Adolph Green from their original award-winning screenplay. The score is packed with brilliant dance numbers and superb tunes including “Make ‘em Laugh,” “Moses Supposes,” “Good Mornin’,” “You Are My Lucky Star” and the title song, “Singin’ in the Rain.”
Tickets for Singin' in the Rain are priced starting from $54 - $79. Performances are August 16 – August 28, Tue - Thurs at 7:30 pm, Fri and Sat at 8 pm, matinees Wed, Sat and Sun at 2 pm.  Kids 18 and under save 50% at all evening performances.  For tickets and information call (978) 232-7200, visit www.nsmt.org, or visit the box office in person at 62 Dunham Rd., Beverly, MA. The show is sponsored by Beverly Bank.
