Saco River Tubing Fun for the Whole Family!

Every year we go to the White Mountains, New Hampshire but this year we wanted to do something new. We decided to try out tubing on the Saco River through Saco River Tubing Center which is run by Saco River Canoe Rental Company. It was a blast!!! We even took our Shetland Sheepdog Shellie and she gave it two paws up for relaxation!
We rented tubes for all four of us and a cooler tube for our coolers and for Shellie. It was the perfect size.
First you arrive at the building. You should make an advanced reservation on-line as when we arrived on a Friday they were sold out for the day. You check in at the building where they give you a slip you give to the next person for you to board the shuttle to the river. You can also purchase water shoes, water-proof phone pouches and more. We had purchased waterproof bags for our phones on Amazon and water shoes before arriving. You will need to wear shoes on the river.
We then hopped on the shuttle which is only a quick five minute drive to where you enter the Saco River where they give you your tubes and you are on your way. You are required to bring a life jacket on your tube however only children 12 and under are required to wear them.
Here is Shellie ready to go. She has no idea what is going on. We brought lunch and drinks in our cooler for a stop on the river.
We are all ready to go.
We chose the 1 mile tube float. It was the shortest but not really knowing what to expect and how we would like it we went with the shortest that takes 2-3 hours leisurely going down the river. If you want to just go down the river and not stop you could get out and do a second trip after taking the shuttle back to the start again.
There is also a 3 and 5 mile option. You can read more here: https://www.sacorivertubing.com/rates/
We took our time on the river. It was very calm and shallow. In one spot we had to get out to drag our tubes as it was really shallow. Of course river conditions change daily so check the latest on their website.
Everyone was relaxing. So nice having back rests and cup holders.
Shellie was enjoying it!
Soaking up some rays.
So cute!
Shellie went for a little swim.
Then fell asleep in the float, it was too cute.
Here is a little video highlight.
Here you can see the rope swing.
We stopped at some of the beaches along the way.
Another stopping point.
Everyone was having so much fun.
Shellie cuddles.
Love this view with the mountains.
It is clearly marked where you get out of the water.
There is even a platform to go on to get out of the water. I saw some comments online saying it was hard to get out, but I thought it was very easy.
It was such a great time. Next time we will definitely try the 3 mile route.

See you out on the river!

Disclosure: I was provided with tube rentals for our family for promotional purposes. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.
