Evan has been collecting Hess trucks and absolutely loves them. I love it because they are so well built and Hess is even nice enough to give you four Energizer batteries needed for the truck. I have been giving them to my nephews for many years. I love that it is a gift I always know I get for them, and they expect it and love to add to their collection. This year we received the 2013 Hess Toy Truck and Tractor and Evan was excited to get to playing.
It was wrapped up but Evan knew right away by the box what it was.
Here it is the Hess Toy Truck and Tractor. The tractor takes 2 AA batteries which are not included but the batteries for the Truck are included.
Evan brought out some of his collection and got right to work.
This toy truck set has chrome detailing and a trailer with a loading ramp to haul the self-propelled tractor.
The Truck has 4 realistic sounds: ignition/idle, horn, back-up alert and hydraulic lift with 45 lights that work in flash or steady mode. The Tractor has Motorized forward and reverse motion with 15 working lights. It also has a locking front bucket with release button 360-degree swiveling back bucket Evan put together a video that I share later in the post that will show you all the functionality.
He especially liked the interaction between the Truck and the Tractor. We just had a huge house renovation so he has seen many tractors around our house in the last 6 months.
He also found the ramp right away. I didn't even notice it at first. It is so true that kids can teach you how to play with toys.
The tractor fits very well in to the truck.
Here is some video of Evan showing us the functionality.
Evan cracks me up, he started making configurations of the Hess Truck set pieces together.
Plus this year they also have a new downloadable Hess Tractor Trek app at http://hesstoytruck.com/hess-apps/. When you honk the physical toy truck's horn the app will unlock 100,000 in bonus Hess Cash which can be used for in game purchases to unlock new tractors or environments.
He was very proud of this creation.
Here is some of Evan's collection. The Hess Toy Truck has been a holiday tradition since 1964, and is one of the longest running toy brands on the market.
