7/8/15: Story Land Where Fantasy Lives

Next up in my series of posts on family fun in the White Mountains, New Hampshire is a super fun amusement park called Story Land in Glen, NH.  We have been taking the kids here since they were small and I am so excited that they still love to go there at the ages of 8 and 10.  Last year they added a wooden roller coaster which makes it a lot of fun for kids close to being too old to visit.  You can check out all my Story Land posts here
I love how you feel like you enter in to a fantasy land.
There are certain pictures we take every year and this is one of them.
This little train was new and the kids hopped right in for a picture.
When you enter to the right is Humpty Dumpty on the wall.  Now they are almost as big as Humpty!
Here was a picture when the kids were younger.
Last year they added Roar-O-Saurus and it is a lot of fun.  This wooden roller coaster is for anyone over 42 inches.  You can see all attractions here.
The whole area has dinosaur theming.  You can even read about dinosaurs as you are in line for the ride.
I personally love wooden roller coasters so I was very happy when they built this.
Here you can see the Dino on the front.
There are plenty of other rides to go on.  We love the Crazy Barn.
The tractors have always been a family favorite.  Even little ones can drive as there is no foot pedal to press.  There are also buttons inside the tractor to press and hear animal noises.
The Antique Cars always have a long line so get to this early.
The antique carousel is very fun too as they rock back and forth instead of going up and down.  It is a German carousel and only one of two.
The Flying Fish is lots of fun too.

There are lots of characters to see and this fun scarecrow was walking around the park.

A great way to end the 30 minutes before park closing all of the characters come out for a little show.  This is a great photo opportunity.
I love this Humpty Dumpty and had to hop in for a picture with him.
There are additional characters who visit on certain days, check their schedule here.  Plus they have Character Dinners and Tea Time with Cinderella.  More information here.  Rory is new and the kids met him during a mid-day show.
You must go up to the Castle and see Cinderella.
Here is the horse and carriage to take you to the castle.
 Cinderella, Cinderella!
Lauren was excited and hugged her.
There are so many wonderful places to pose for pictures.

This cracks me up.  I love Evan peeking out.
Silly kids.
Tim the Tree likes to be visited.  You can write your name on a leaf and hang it on the wall.
Oh dear, Evan and Lauren what did you do?
You can enter the park 3 hours before closing on one day and then use your ticket for an additional day.
Story Land really is picture perfect and some place you must visit.
