8/22/09: USS Constitution

We always travel near and far to visit different places. Today we decided to stay close to home and venture into the Charlestown Navy Yard to see the USS Constitution despite the heat. The kids really enjoyed this since we got to take the T which is so much fun for them. Isn't she a beautiful ship?
Here are the kids inside the boat. We went on the tour and then headed over to the museum for the Victory Day celebration.

Giving some hugs.

In front of the canons.
Posing on an anchor.

8/21/09: Are those fish, no it is Evan and Lauren!

Today was Peek Week at swim. Both Evan and Lauren are doing awesome in swimming. Evan is swimming with his head in the water, learning to jump off the starting block, and swimming without his bubble. He does so well and has advanced 2 levels in a short time. Lauren is also swimming like a fish. She loves to swim by herself and absolutely loves jumping in the pool! See other swim photos here.
Here she is jumping. She jumps by herself and goes all the way under. She loves it. I have to keep her away from the edge so she doesn't climb out to jump since it is her favorite thing to do.
After a big jump!
Here is Evan swimming away.
And Lauren learning water safety with her life jacket on in the boat.

8/19/09: Ipswich River Park Concert and Kids Show

Since it was a nice night we decided to pack up our blanket and head to Ipswich River Park for the kids Magician show and the Music. The kids had a great time eating, watching the Magician, listening to the music, taking a pony ride and playing in the park with their buddies Jack and Bella. Here we were last year and again last year at this concert.
Here is the Magician. Evan found it extremely funny when he pulled
And on the pony ride. I had promised the kids last year that we would do this and when I made the promise it was the last concert of the series, so here we are. Of course they have taken plenty of pony rides since at Burlington Pride Day, 4th of July, and Davis Farmland.

8/16/09: Our Crazy Weekend - Day 2

Day 2 we went to the Franklin Park Zoo thanks to the library pass Mommy had booked, too bad it was so hot, but we had a great time. They are setting up for a movie to be filmed called "The Zookeeper". Something about this area lately. Kevin James was also in Mall Cop filmed in the Burlington Mall.
Cool picture of the Tiger. See us up close with one last year.
Cool Zebras and a Giraffe.
The kids checking out the Zebra.
A cool butterfly.
Then we were off to Robert's birthday party (Evan and Lauren's cousin).

8/15/09: Our Crazy Weekend - Day 1

As anyone knows with kids, weekends are not for relaxing but for running around and going to parties, Zoos, Farms, Amusement Parks, etc. Along those lines, our weekend was filled with 2 birthday parties, a trip to the Zoo and a Bat Mitzvah. Here we are as our start to the weekend festivities at a Bat Mitzvah for John's cousin. Here are the kids with Ava (John's cousin's little girl).
Ok, the interesting part of this party is that all the kids were seated together at one table. This is what happens when there is no adult supervision.
And Lauren loving the sorbet. Mommy had to sit at the kids table (since there was no way I was letting a 2 and a 4 year old sit by themselves to eat) and explain to little ones what Sorbet was. I would not even try to go over the whole cleansing the pallet idea with them.
Then we rushed off to get to Tanya's Tinkerbell 4th birthday.

8/10/09: Lauren's 1st Visit to the Dentist

Lauren had his first Dentist appt. today. She did great and the Dentist was able to clean her teeth with no problem. We did learn that we will probably be visiting an orthodontist by the age of 7 just like Evan due to her teeth being very close together!

Here is Lauren all ready to go in. She got to watch big brother go first. She was very proud to show off her white smile after.

8/9/09: Southwick's Zoo Fun

We went back to Southwick's Zoo and had a fun time.
The cool tigers.
Evan feeding the animals in the petting zoo.
Here is Lauren as the Pig Whisperer. Lauren loved the piggies. In this picture it looks like they liked her too. It looks like she is teaching them.
The baby giraffe.
The cool elephant show.
In the deer park.

8/8/09: Build and Grow

As always we had a fun time building at Lowe's. This time it was a Power Boat. Good job Lauren and Evan! Here are some pictures from other visits.
And Evan working hard.
We then went to a 50th Anniversary Party for John's Aunt and Uncle and Olivia liked hanging out with Lauren (we also spent 2 weeks at the beach with her last summer).

8/5/09: Conway Train and Fun in the Water

On our last day before heading to the train we hung out in the water. It was so beautiful. This was right near the Inn where we stayed.
Evan with his favorite thing, a train! Here we were last year.
The kids on the train ready to go.
Enjoying the scenery.
So pretty.

8/4: Santa's Village

We had such a great time at Santa's Village again. We played the Elfabeth game again and went on lots of fun rides and saw cute shows.
Here are the kids with Santa (yes Lauren even sat with him and talked to him!!!).
And in the Sleigh ride. And with Frosty, Lauren's favorite. In front of the welcome sign.Lauren, Evan and Bella in the sleigh outside Santa's House. We went with Mommy's friend.

8/2-8/3: Story Land

Yet again we had a great time at Story Land. This is Evan's 4th time there, and Lauren's 3rd. The kids had a great time on the rides, and especially liked the tractors, Swan boats, and Carousel. You have to take this classic picture in the Pumpkin.
And with Humpty Dumpty.
And in front of the Story Land sign Day 1.And now Day 2. (If you go over at 3 you go for another day, so it is like you get an extra 3 hours there for free).
And Day 1 in the Pumpkin.
