11/28/10: Zoo Lights

We went to Zoo Lights at the Stone Zoo this past weekend. We got to see lights and some animals. The kids enjoyed it and liked seeing Santa again and refining their list of items they are requesting.
So pretty.
The kids and John checking out the lights.
Kids posing for me.
Hard to believe all of these lights came from one person's house.

11/20/10: Edaville Festival of Lights

As I said in my earlier post, it is potentially the last Festival of Lights at Edaville. Note all my Edaville posts here. If you have the time I would go and check it out. They added a lot of lights and things to see this year. We had a great time as we always do and got there early to be able to do the Train ride during the day and again at night. Here we are in our annual night time train ride picture.
The kids looking so cute in one of the trains.
I had to take a picture of the sign, as it says it all. We really enjoy this holiday time tradition.

And of course a trip to see Santa!
I love how you can see Evan's reflection in this picture. Evan was really cute on the way home asking if Sir Topham Hat was going to be sad if Thomas couldn't come to Edaville any more.
And at night.
Lauren having fun. Notice the slippers. Yes she walked out of the house with slippers on and I didn't bring shoes for her. Luckily I called our friends that were meeting us and they brought some boots for her.
Evan with his favorite thing, trains!
Evan the Engineer.
With the big Santa. Lauren, Evan and our friends Haley and Aubrey.
On the rides.
Posing for some pictures.
And to all a good night...

11/10/10: Possibly the last Festival of Lights at Edaville

I was very sad to hear the news from my Mom the other day that Edaville Railroad in Carver, MA might close if they don't get a buyer in the next few months. I found the full article online here:
Edaville had been open since 1947 with a closing in the 90s. I have gone to Edaville since I was a little kid and had fond memories of Festival of Lights. There wasn't as many rides when I was a child, but it was always fun to go there. Now we have made it a tradition with our family and a good friend of mine that I have grown up with and her family. Each year we look forward to two events at Edaville. Day Out With Thomas and Festival of Lights. See pictures here.
Day Out With Thomas is always a lot of fun and the kids love it. Especially Evan. Evan loves Thomas and enjoyed saying All Aboard and meeting Sir Topham Hat. This is a highlight every year for him.
2 Years ago, the kids love the train ride.
If anyone reading my blog has 10 million dollars, feel free to buy this wonderful place. I know of many families that would appreciate it.
