7/19/16: Cape Cod Fun Without The Beach

We recently went to Cape Cod on vacation and I wanted to share some places to go aside from the beach.  Truth be told I don't like the beach.  Sand, sunblock, and cold ocean water just doesn't appeal to me.  I would much rather explore other attractions.  On our trip we got to check out a lot of cool stuff and I wanted to share it with you.  Of course if you are looking for more places to go check out the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Website.
First cool place in my list is Chatham MA.  There are lots of cute stores to check out, restaurants and more.  In the center area there were really cool sharks painted that we got to see.
The kids really enjoyed checking these out.  Some of them were really intricate and amazing.
They were all hand painted.
We also headed to the Chatham Fish Pier.  Here you can see fish being delivered and lots of seals.
We also checked out Light House Beach.  This boat propeller is from the movie The Finest Hour.
Of course the Light House that is there.
We also went to Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge.  If it is low tide you could walk along here.  If you want to do the other path there were signs about deer ticks so spray up with some bug spray.
We also went to Bud's Go-Karts.
One of my favorite nights was going to the Wellfleet Drive-In Theatre!  I have such fond memories of the Drive-In when I was a kid so I loved this.  Now they are smart and charge by the amount of people and not just by carload.  We went to see Finding Dory and Civil War.  Get there early to get a good spot.
Here are some other locations with links to blog posts on them.
The Adventure Park at Heritage Museums and Gardens, Sandwich:  A climbing course with zip lines.
Heritage Museums and Gardens, Sandwich:  A beautiful place to visit with gardens, antique cars, Hidden Hollow play area, carousel, and other special exhibits.
Cape Cod Railroad, Hyannis:  We took the Coastal Excursion and saw some beautiful sights.
Whydah Pirate Museum, West Yarmouth:  Museum covering the Whydah ship and there is even real pirate treasure recovered from the sunken ship.
We stayed at the Red Jacket Beach Resort which was wonderful!
We were also going to take a the Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruise however they called and let us know that the water was too rough.  We just need to reschedule and go at a later date.  When we go back we are also going to head to Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf in South Yarmouth.
There is so much to see in Cape Cod!  I hope you are able to go there and enjoy it!
Disclosure:  I was provided with tickets for The Adventure Park at Heritage Museums and Gardens, Heritage Museums and Gardens, Whydah Pirate Museum, and the Cape Cod Railroad in addition to accommodation at the Red Jacket Beach Resort.  The other attractions we were not hosted.  No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.
