Evan has been a train enthusiast since he could say "Choo Choo". He still loves trains and enjoys going on train rides. On our recent vacation to Cape Cod we were able to enjoy a wonderful train ride on the Cape Cod Central Railroad on the Coastal Excursion Train. We have been on the Train to Christmas Town in the past so I knew we would love it.
We left from Hyannis on this two-hour train ride.We traveled in Diamond Class in the dome.
Here are the kids in our seats. There was a snack bar but they also had someone come up with a snack basket if you wanted to get some. You can also purchase a boxed lunch in advance online. There is also a lunch and dinner train you can see here.
We were able to enjoy beautiful views.
It was absolutely gorgeous. You are able to experience the beauty of the Cape including woodlands, sand dunes, cranberry bogs, salt marshes and the famous Cape Cod Canal. Also while on board you get to learn about your surroundings through narration.
Evan loved looking out to experience the train ride.
The staff was really friendly. The conductor made a paw print when stamping the kids tickets. The narrator also came around and was talking to all the guests.
This winter the Polar Express Train Ride will be returning. You can learn more here. We took the Polar Express back when they had it in 2012 and loved it. You can read more here.
What a great time, I hope you get to experience the Cape Cod Central Railroad!
