We have been going to the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, RI for years and love it. Every time we visit there are new things to do and see.
Our favorite thing to do is visit with the elephants. If you walk towards the back of the Zoo before about noon you will see them cycling the elephants in to a little building where they give them food and sometimes a bath. I think the kids are getting photo bombed by an elephant in this picture.
I got some really good pictures of the elephant in the building.
It has a place to pet the animals and feed them.
Two years ago a new cheetah exhibit opened.
This year there is a new cute little train that takes you on a little trip for $3 per person.
Another experience they have is Camel Rides. The kids did this last year. It is an additional charge of $6 per person. The Camel Rides are right next to the Beyond the Fence area of the Big Backyard and is open from 10-4:30.
The giraffes are really awesome to see.
There is also a giraffe feeding, you can see details here.
We saw Zebras.
These Gibbons were Lauren's favorites.
Very cool camels.
This Black Bear was so cute sleeping.
There are Bison.
The flamingos were temporarily moved in to a building near Hasbro's Our Big Backyard.
Eventually a new rainforest exhibit is coming in 2018.
You can learn more here. This is a concept picture of what is to come.
The Hornbill was pretty cool to look at.
The tortoises are pretty cool.
Hi there porcupine.
It is so pretty!
The kids posing for me.
My favorite animal is the Red Panda. Today he was hiding but here are a couple pictures from last year's visit.
There are so many wonderful animals to see. You can see all animals here as I am only showing you a sampling. Plus it is a lovely zoo. It is so picturesque.
Make sure to visit them in summer and fall. A must see is the awesome Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular in October.
