Edaville Family Theme Park Christmas Festival of Lights Fun

I have been going to Edaville Family Theme Park at the holidays since I was a kid.  This past weekend we went to Christmas Festival of Lights and had so much fun.
It is so amazing the expansion that Edaville Family Theme Park has gone through over the last few years.  There is always something new to see.  We experienced Dickens Village which is beautiful.

This area also has the main man, Santa Claus!
We always have so much fun with so much to do including amusement rides, the train ride to see the lights, and Thomas Land!
Thomas Land has been a huge addition to the park with so many awesome rides.

So pretty with the snow falling.
The kids had a blast in the indoor play area too.
So cool seeing Tidmouth Sheds with all of Thomas's friends.
Plus Thomas takes you around on the train ride.  The train ran every hour on the hour.  You can ride the train as many times as you want during your visit.

Evan especially loves going on the train.  Despite the light snow falling he decided we should go in the outdoor car.  He said it was the best view, which was true.  If you want a warmer ride go inside the train.
Here are some views on the train.

What better way than to get in the Christmas spirit?

The kids will have a blast and so will the adults.
We had so much fun with our friends!

Make sure to head to Edaville USA this holiday season and in the summer too!
Check out their website or Facebook page for times, prices and details.  It includes all of the rides and attractions, train ride and fun.

Elf The Musical Family Fun

We were extremely lucky to attend opening night of Elf the Broadway Musical at the Boch Center Wang Theatre in Boston. This show is awesome and lives up to the hilarious movie.
The show is in Boston from November 28th to December 10th so you still have time to get tickets!

Erik Gratton is hilarious as Buddy the Elf. He does such a fabulous job with this role with his quirky expressions and perfect delivery. We were laughing out loud at so many moments in the show.
George Wendt will play the role of Santa. You may remember him as Norm in Cheers! During one of his parts he had a drink in his hand and said Cheers and the audience broke in to applause. He was so funny as Santa. He had so many great lines, we loved him!
A few other standouts in the show were Veronica J. Kuehn as Jovie. She had a beautiful voice and wonderful stage presence.
Trey Middleton played Michael and also had a wonderful voice for such a young child.
The sets were also amazing and made you feel engulfed in the story. Santa's sleigh even flies!
Of course the Boch Center Wang Theatre is a lovely venue!

It is so beautiful inside!
This is a wonderful show to see this holiday season! Make sure to get your tickets now!

Boston Ballet's The Nutcracker A Family Tradition

We love to kick off the holiday season every year by heading to dress rehearsal for the Boston Ballet's presentation of Mikko Nissinen's The Nutcracker at the Boston Opera House. Lauren is dancing in a different Nutcracker performance this year and was very excited to see the show. The show runs until December 31st so make sure to get your tickets now.
Lauren brought a good friend of hers that also dances.
They were both very excited.
The show is amazing with gorgeous sets and music.  I could not take pictures during the show however The Boston Ballet did share some press images with me.

We even got to meet some of the lovely dancers at intermission.  The grace and beauty that these dancers show on stage is breathtaking.
This is the 6th year of Mikko Nissinen’s re-envisioned The Nutcracker.  It is based on the libretto by Alexandre Dumas père titled The Tale of the Nutcracker, which is adapted from E. T. A. Hoffmann’s story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.”  Some of our favorites are the Snow Scene.
This is such a fun scene with the mice and Nutcracker.
The costumes some of the characters need to dance in must be such a challenge.  The bear leaps so high which is so impressive!
These guys are unbelievable!  The jumps they did and turns were so awesome.  The whole audience was awe struck and erupted in applause after they danced.
The show has a full company of 56 dancers, 10 Boston Ballet II dancers along with more than 250 Boston Ballet School students.  This is always one of my favorites as I danced many times to "Waltz of the Flowers" and my daughter danced to it last year in her recital.
The show is about 2 hours long and does have an intermission.  The time flies though as you are so engrossed in the show.
There are 44 performances of The Nutcracker at the Boston Opera House (539 Washington St, Boston, MA 02111)!
Tickets start at $35.

I highly suggest taking the family to see it and starting a family tradition or continuing one if you already have been.
