6/4/10: Evan and Lauren - How Quickly They Have Grown

In honor of Lauren's 3rd Birthday and Evan's 5th Birthday I thought I would recap the years of these two sweet kids. It is amazing how fast the time has gone. It feels like just yesterday Evan was a baby. Actually it feels like I was pregnant with him not long ago at all. I can't believe that baby will start school next year. My other baby Lauren is getting so big now too. It all is going so fast. There are links within this post to previous birthdays.
Here is Evan at 2 and Lauren at 2 weeks.

6/3/09: Juice from my muscles

Because I was so amused by something Evan said today I thought I would do a post about cute/funny things the kids say. Here goes...I will add on as time goes by as my memory is horrible.

We were on our way to Evan's doctor appointement today and he said to me "Mommy I don't want them to take juice from my muscles" (he saw them take blood from Lauren the last time. He did great by the way - 38.6 lbs and 41.25 inches tall (75th percentile for both) and had 4 shots and was a trooper for them.

Every ride Lauren would get off at Disney she would either say "That fun" or "That scary", even after the Haunted Mansion she just said "That scary" and went on her merry way.

When Lauren saw Minnie she said "Minnie cute, I like her", same applied to Tinkerbell and she said that the Princesses were beautiful - especially Rella (Cinderella).

3/30/09: My future's so bright, I have to wear shades

The title says it all...their future's so bright, they have to wear shades (even at night). Man they thought they looked so cool.

1/16/09: The Love of Siblings Part 2 and a Busy Day

Ok, I know I posted about the love of siblings before but I just had to again. I was reminded yet again of how cute the two of these kids can be together when they were in the bath the other night. This picture shows when Lauren gave Evan a big hug and they were all giggles.

And the fact that Evan washes Lauren's hair. It is too cute.

Today we had a super busy day. Evan helped Lauren today at a Mother Goose on the Loose program we went to. The kids had a ton of fun together at it.
Then our day continued on to Evan's ice skating lesson. Nothing like sitting in a cold ice rink when it is the coldest day in years outside. What we do for our kids huh? Here he is standing on his own!
And to finish out our day we went to the Museum of Science, or as Evan calls it the Dinosaur Museum (due to the picture below). It is Dinosaur month at school so Evan is big into Dinosaurs right now. We went to Free Films Fridays and saw the Mars Rover Omni Theatre movie. The kids really enjoyed it.

12/14/08: Santa's Party...wait Chuck E Cheese????

Today we headed to Charmingfare Farm in Candia, NH for a Party with Santa. We got an unpleasant surprise when we arrived finding out that the party was cancelled due to the power being out because of an ice storm. Evan was a little bummed as we had talked about the party for a while and he was looking forward to it. We were going with our friends and all the kids were disappointed with the news so we decided then to take them to Chuck E Cheese. So this is where we ended up, no Santa, but we will go back next weekend to the party.
And here is Lauren with Chuck E Cheese.
And fun in the Fire Truck.
And Lauren riding on the Clifford ride.

12/11: Formal and PJ Photos

As I mentioned before I didn't want to ruin the surprise of our Christmas card by posting our formal photos but now the cards are sent so I can post it.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Cute formal picture of the two of them
Fun PJ shots - I love this one
This one is also a favorite of mine as it really shows their personalities. Goofy/playful Evan and little Miss Thing Lauren as I call her with her attitude.
Lauren being silly
Evan with his buddy Santa. He just informed me tonight that he wants to get Santa a gift because he gives out so many gifts and doesn't get any. He said he wants to get him a Santa blanket that he can color for him. Isn't that the cutest?
Super cute, didn't buy this one (hence the symbol imprinted on it)

11/24/08: Things I learned over the weekend

First off, some things I learned or realized again this weekend:
1. I actually have a Living Room floor. I barely ever see it due to all the toys but after the major clean up we did over the weekend and new rules of 1 toy at a time I can see the floor again.
2. We have enough toys to open a Toys R Us...well maybe only a KB Toys, but still, a lot, which John keeps reminding me as you look to the next picture and see the presents under the tree.
3. I love having the Christmas tree up - well I didn't learn this over the weekend, but still.
4. I stink at wrapping presents! Again didn't learn it over the weekend, but realized it again. Also realized Santa doesn't wrap any better than me (hee, hee, he is me!).
5. I also cannot make sugar cookies to save my life. I can bake a cake and decorate it to look like a Princess Castle or Mickey Mouse, but a simple sugar cookie, forget it!

My floor!

Our tree with presents underneath it. Not too many left to buy.

We have been busy as always. Last week we went to see Wall-E at the Wilmington Library, then Music time at the Billerica library on Friday. Today we went to Music Time at the Wilmington library and here we are over the weekend at my friend's Green School's Community Fair. Check out her website.

We also have family photos and cute pictures of the kids that I will share once I get my Christmas cards out. Don't want to take away from the card by posting them.

Well there you have it, you are all caught up. I am sure you missed me not posting in a week. :-)

10/22/08: The Love of Siblings

Last night again I was amazed and happy to see the joys of having more than one child. The cute way that Evan and Lauren played together at PJ Music Time at the Melrose library was so heart warming. The fact that Lauren would hold on to Evan as he walked around and she would giggle away. Lauren just adores her brother. Right now it is Monkey See, Monkey Do, whatever Evan does Lauren does.
Here they are again.
Growing up I was an only child. I always wanted an older brother. I thought he would protect me. It was just not in the cards for me to have a sibling. My Mom had me later in life (back then at least, these days 38 is not that late in life to have children). I always had this idealistic view of siblings and thought people that had them were so lucky. Yet all the people with siblings always thought I was lucky being an only child. The grass is always greener right?
Evan has really cared for his sister since day 1. As I watch him right this moment he has Lauren on a little car and is pushing her around in it and she is giggling away.
He always has his arms around her. Here at Canobie Lake Park.
So cute! Here after having their picture taken with the Easter Bunny.
Valentine's Day picture.
Just hanging on the couch and again the arm around her. I came into the room and they were like this.
Again the arm around for our joint b-day party with playgroup.
And here he is helping her as she was just learning how to use a sippy cup.
I know you are all thinking, just wait. Your kids will be fighting like crazy. And yes, it is not always peachy, they do pull toys from each other and get upset and not get along. I am just hoping there will be more moments like the ones above then the arguing. At least these are the ones I will try to remember the most. I have said it before in a post, but I will say it again...ok Gilda, shed the tear and move on. Luckily all my tears are of joy!
