CONTEST CLOSED: CONGRATULATIONS KATHY P. FOR WINNING!
I love toys that make kids think and have fun so when I received the Thames & Kosmos Remote-Control Machines Exclusive set from MindWare I was very excited. I love so many of the Thames & Kosmos Sets and was lucky to also review their Science or Magic? Tricks with Physics Set. Being an Aerospace and Mechanical Engineer myself I love robotics and I am beyond excited about this cool new set. Now I am giving you the chance to win the Remote-Control Machines set! A $69.99 value!
This set reminds me of the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robots. I am lucky enough to be involved with the program and I judge FIRST Robotics FTC competitions. My son has seen these robots and absolutely loves them. When he went to my company picnic he spent most of the time in front of one of the FIRST Robots. Note this is a FIRST Robot below not the set above.

The FIRST Sets are very expensive and of course meant for teams to compete with. Evan is still to young to join a team so I have spent some time looking for a set that would be similar and this one is perfect. You can build your own motorized vehicles and machines and control them with a wireless remote control unit! A unique six button infrared remote allows you to control three different motors simultaneously, moving each of them forward or in reverse, with easy-to-activate touch sensors.
The three motors can be combined to make complex vehicles and machines in numerous configurations limited only by your imagination. This exclusive set from MindWare assembles 22 models demonstrating different ways in which the motors can be used including a bulldozer, car, three-wheeler, crane, antique car, plow, folding car, formula one racer, three-blade dozer, and robotic arm.

I can't wait to make them with Evan!
Lauren enjoyed playing with the FIRST Robot too.

I don't have a chance to get the review done now but I did want to get this giveaway posted so you can win one for the holidays. The kit comes with three motors, remote control unit, battery holder, and building blocks. The 76-page color instruction book included in this kit gives illustrated step-by-step instructions for the models to help children learn through play and develop their mechanical understanding, creative thinking skills, and hand-eye coordination. The 212 building pieces included in this set are compatible with those in all Thames & Kosmos Construction Series kits, Physics Series kits, Wind Power, and Hydropower kits.
This exclusive set is sold at MindWare. This is the perfect gift for your budding engineer! Enter below to win!
