11/15/13: Power Trains Log Loader from JAKKS Pacific

Evan absolutely loves trains and has since he was little.  He loves looking at Diesel trains and learning about them and playing with any type of train.  He is outgrowing his Thomas Trains though and is looking for the next step.  I was able to find this in Power Trains by JAKKS Pacific.  We received the Power Trains RC Log Loader Express and Evan loved it.
Power Trains are a great next step for train lovers when you don't want to invest a ton of money in to hobby grade model trains that I have learned are super expensive.  I still worry about him playing with the expensive trains as they can be quite delicate so we are at that time in between and Power Trains are perfect!
They are motorized and authentic looking trains that include a log loader.  The log loader worked very well and the assembly was easy.
This set has a battery operated engine with 2 speeds, working headlight, and work both on and off track.
This set has a working Log Loader, forklift tractor and more than 15 feet of track to create an awesome train world.  The tracks were also easy to put together.
Plus it has four rail cars.
Evan was in train heaven.  I want him to be able to play with the set so at the Power Trains price point I am not worried about him enjoying it.
Not only did he like playing with the trains but he liked playing with the truck and logs.
Here you can see the whole layout of the tracks.
He loved controlling the train.  He did pretty well with keeping in on the tracks.  Though one time it went off the tracks and just kept chugging which he loved.
Here you can see more detail.
Here are the trains up close.
Here it is as packaged and sells for $49.99.  You can see all of the Power Trains options here.  It is a perfect gift for your train enthusiast.
