11/18/14: Mega Bloks Super Blitzen Monster Truck

Next up in my Holiday Gift Guide is an awesome Mega Bloks Hot Wheels Super Blitzen Monster Truck set.  Not only is it fun to build but it can make three different configurations plus has pull back motorized action.  

Evan was excited to receive this set.  Here are all the parts it comes with.

Evan started by building the car.  What I love about the set is that you can build the car and then transform that in to the Monster Truck.

He had no problem putting together the car.  The steps were really easy for him to follow.

Once he finished the car he started to put it together with the Monster Truck parts.

It wasn't too bad connecting the car to the truck.

 Here it is fully built.

Then the real fun began.  Evan started driving the truck around and using the motorized action.  You just need to pull it back and watch it go.

The key is that it stayed together well when he was playing with it.

Plus it is compatible with other Mega Bloks Hot Wheels sets.  Here are the individual cars.  They retail for $9.99.  Great for stocking stuffers, or holiday exchanges at school.

 Evan really enjoyed this set.  I think it is a great one.

12/17/13: Mega Bloks Barbie, Skylanders and Hot Wheels Sets

I have reviewed Mega Bloks before and have always loved their sets.  Last year at Time to Play Mag's Showcase they debuted their Barbie sets and they were a huge hit.  This year there were more Barbie sets which are super cute. 

We received the Tropical Resort and my daughter is extremely excited to put it together.  It has a buildable pier, jet ski, Dolphin, and two smaller Dolphins.  I love that it has glittering block stand and accessories.  I love that it has a Barbie figure and some sea life.  It retails for $24.99.

For the boys in your life there is a super cool Skylanders Swap Force Set.  My son loves playing Skylanders Swap Force and was beyond excited to put them together.  We received Flynn's Rescue Ship.

 This set is so awesome with many of your favorite characters.  It has three characters - Magna Charge, Hot Head and Flynn.

Plus one even lights up.

Last year we put together the Skylanders Giants Crusher's Pirate Quest and my son loved it.

 He has no issues putting together these sets and they stay together extremely well to be able to play with them after.

We also reviewed Skylanders Giants Arkeyan Copter and Evan loved that set too.

The last set I may be the most excited about is the Hot Wheels Mega Bloks.  Here is Twin Mill III (Red), Bone Shaker (Black), and Twinduction (Blue).  I like that you can customize all these vehicles with parts from other Hot Wheels vehicles.  They are all interchangeable.

I love that you can put the driver in the seat and race around.

Then test your creations in the Super Stunt Test Facility.

12/2/12: Mega Bloks World of Warcraft Arthas and Sindragosa and Skylanders Giants Crusher's Pirate Quest

Next up in my Holiday Gift Guide is Mega Bloks World of Warcraft Arthas and Sindragosa and Skylanders Giants Crusher's Pirate Quest.  Two really cool fun sets to build and play with.

We were at my in-laws so we decided to have the kids put them together as a group.  They decided to divide and conquer and split in to two groups of two with a line down the middle of the two sets.  I will start with the World of Warcraft Arthas and Sindragosa because I thought it looked really cool.  How cool does this guy look?

This started with Lauren and her cousin putting it together but they all ended up working on it a bit.  The kids worked really well together trying to build them.

 Here he is almost finished.  Luckily my nephew Matthew stepped in as the younger ones were having some problems.  It is rated for 8 and up but the pieces locked together easily.  He said he really liked it.

 They did a good job breaking it in to smaller parts each of them could work on.

 The sail goes up and down which is cool.  Evan was having fun playing with it.

11/19/12: Skylanders Giants Arkeyan Copter Mega Bloks and a Sneqk Peek

Next up in my Holiday Gift Guide is Mega Bloks Skylanders Giants Arkeyan Copter Attack!  Plus read on to see a wonderful new set that little girls in your life would like.  It hasn't released yet but I am giving you a sneak peek.

Skylanders Giants are very popular right now and Evan was excited to get started on this set.  He had fun putting the blocks together.  

The directions were really clear so it made it easy to put together.

Here is the finished product.  Even I thought it looked pretty cool when it was completed and Evan was psyched to start playing with it.

Evan loved that the little yellow darts shoot out of it and the propellers spin.

And now my Sneak Peek of a new set I got to see at Time to Play's Holiday Showcase.  Mega Bloks is coming out with a Barbie set on 12/12/12.  I really wish they had this when I was a kid!

It looks so cool!  I love this way to get girls more engaged in building with blocks.  What little girl wouldn't want these?
