11/8/11: FMC Learn to Skate Promotional Video With Evan

I need to recycle an earlier post from late August when Evan was taped to be in a Promotional Video for FMC Ice Sports now that the Videos are done being edited.
Evan has skated in the past with FMC in the Learn to Skate Program.  I received an email that there would be a casting call for a promotional video they were producing for the Learn to Skate program and submitted Evan's picture not thinking he would get picked.  Well low and behold after seeing his picture and interviewing him on the phone he was picked and also selected to be interviewed on camera for the video.
Here is the company video they created.  He is actually in both videos quite a bit.  Look for the red jacket and black helmet.  You can see him right here in the thumbnail for the first video.

And the Learn to Skate specific Video.

Here he is all ready to go.
They also did hair and makeup!  This was the first time Evan had powder put on and thought it was pretty funny.  What a star in the making.  I was also in the interview talking with him on my lap.  The funniest part of the day was the first question they asked him on camera was his favorite sport and he said "Soccer".  Hee, hee.  Then they asked any other sports and he said skating.  Maybe that will make it to the Blooper roll.
It was a very long day.  We got there at 8 am, were interviewed around 11:30 and then the kids skated for a while before the camera man was ready to video tape them skating.  The kids were skating for about 3 hours!  What a long time to skate.  Here they were warming up before the camera man came.
The camera man getting a shot of Evan skating.
Making a train.
Evan getting taped again.
The Learn to Skate kids.
All the kids watched their teacher do a spin and clapped for her.
Here is some video of that.
This will be an experience he won't soon forget. Let's just hope at least a little of his footage makes it through the final cut.

2/28/10: Promoted to Tot 2

Evan did so well in Ice Skating. We are so proud of him. He was so excited to receive his ribbon for Passing Tot 1 and will be moving to Tot 2 next session.
Here he is being evaluated in class. He is able to go across the ice, touch his toes, stand up on his own, march on the ice, jump, and some other random things that I don't know the real names for.

Great Job!

1/10/10: Evan's Ice Skating Class

Evan had ice skating and did a great job! I couldn't believe the improvement over last year.

He was able to get up and move a bit. Way better than what he did last year.

We were so proud of him.

Here is a little video of how great he did (it starts out slow as he is just standing waiting for his teacher, but then gets moving when his teacher is ready). He is in a blue helmet and the Blue Lightning McQueen jacket with the design on the back and is the only one standing the whole time at the beginning. Note he keeps standing even when kids are falling all around him.

2/20/09: Disney on Ice World's of Fantasy

We had a great time today at Disney on Ice World's of Fantasy. It was such a fun show. We got to see Cars characters like Lightening McQueen, Mater and Sally, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Tinkerbell and all the fairies. There was even a Princess pre-show to see pretty Princess gowns and see Cinderella up close. The kids and I had a great time. We even went with our buddy Tanya and her Mommy. A good time was had by all. Even though we just went to Disney on Ice Mickey and Minnie's Magical Journey in December it was worth going again. Enjoy the pictures. And as always more pictures of the family on our Shutterfly Share Site.

2/13/09: Evan's last ice skating class

Today was Evan's last ice skating class of the session and he did great.

It was the first time he really skated without holding on to a cone and did great. He still can't get up on his own, but he sure is trying hard and that is all that counts.

Here is some video

2/6/09: Music, Friendly's, Ice Skating

Today we had a fun day. It started at Music at the Reading Library. Wow was it packed! I think the most people I have ever seen there. Here is Evan saying hi to snappy who was part of the music program.
Then we headed over to Friendly's for lunch. Yum, ice cream.
Then off to skating. What a busy day.
Here we are at music the other night. I just thought it was cute that Evan put his arm around Lauren.

1/16/09: The Love of Siblings Part 2 and a Busy Day

Ok, I know I posted about the love of siblings before but I just had to again. I was reminded yet again of how cute the two of these kids can be together when they were in the bath the other night. This picture shows when Lauren gave Evan a big hug and they were all giggles.

And the fact that Evan washes Lauren's hair. It is too cute.

Today we had a super busy day. Evan helped Lauren today at a Mother Goose on the Loose program we went to. The kids had a ton of fun together at it.
Then our day continued on to Evan's ice skating lesson. Nothing like sitting in a cold ice rink when it is the coldest day in years outside. What we do for our kids huh? Here he is standing on his own!
And to finish out our day we went to the Museum of Science, or as Evan calls it the Dinosaur Museum (due to the picture below). It is Dinosaur month at school so Evan is big into Dinosaurs right now. We went to Free Films Fridays and saw the Mars Rover Omni Theatre movie. The kids really enjoyed it.

1/9/09: Evan's 1st Skating lesson

Today Evan had his first skating lesson. Here he is all ready to go.

His Class
Playing a little game and learning how to get up when you fall.
He actually got up once by himself and I caught it on video! Look to the right for the blue helmet and red jacket.

Here he is skating with the help of a cone.

The teacher helping him stand up. Most of the kids were on skates for the first time so they had a hard time standing.
