6/28/11: Blog it Forward Tuesday!

Welcome to Blog It Forward Tuesday! A blog hop and giveaway linky hosted by Just Married with Coupons and Sweep Tight.
The concept of this blog hop is the same as any other –to meet new bloggers and gain more followers. But,what if we took it a step further?

The idea of the Blog It Forward theme is to not only gain more followers, but also do something a little extra for each other (pay it forward).

Instead of just following each blog, take an extra minute to do a little more. Some examples could be…referring them to your facebook friends, tweet about them, stumble a post, add their giveaway to a linky…get creative. We all know how busy us bloggers can be,so little things like this are really appreciated! Here are the simple rules:
Follow both hosts –Just Married with Coupons and Sweep Tight –via Google Friend Connect. Make sure you leave a comment and we will follow back.

Follow any other blogs that may interest you.

Blog it forward! Just one random act of niceness to another blogger can go a long way. If you get a second, give it a try!

6/24/11: Big Wheels at the Library and Cars 2!!!!

We had a busy day today.  It started out with this morning going to the Wilmington Library for the Big Wheels event.  This is a great event, but due to "Day Out With Thomas" falling on the same day as this each year, we could never attend.  This year Edaville cancelled this event so we could go.  You can see the difference from when we went in 2008 here.  While we were there we met up with a friend and then had a playdate and their house which was fun.  The kids painted bird houses and clip boards that became frames.  Very cool.  And being how anal I am about painting in the house, I kept close eye with paper towels in hand.
Evan posing for me.
And of course Lauren is always posing.
 Evan in a big Excavator.
The police cars were a big hit.
Lauren feeling like a big girl.
In the Fire Truck.  As you may remember Evan wants to be a Fire Fighter and had two birthday parties at the Fire Station, so this is always a hit for him.
As if that wasn't enought, we of course had to go to opening night for the much anticipated Cars 2!  We went to see it at the IMAX theatre in Jordan's Furniture.  It was really cool to feel the rumble in the seat, have the movie on a huge screen and be in 3D.  It sold out the 500 seat theatre.  I could have possibly been more excited than the kids to see it.
I don't want to give much away, but we did like the movie, Evan was giggling away during it too.  John liked the original more, I say they are very hard to compare as they were so different.  I did also enjoy the Toy Story short at the beginning, it was hysterical.
What a way to start off Summer vacation, despite the misty weather!

6/23/11: Best Pet Health Alaskan Salmon Oil for Dogs

Best Pet Health sells products for cats and dogs including a brand called Nutri-Vet.

Being that I am a dog owner, with my lovely Shetland Sheepdog, Fred I was sent Nutri-Vet Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil for dogs to review. It is a food additive that makes their coat glossy & shiny and is heart-healthy because it provides omega-3!  Don't you want the best for your family member?
By being a reader of my blog, you can purchase one Nutri-Vet Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil here, any size for half off with the code HALFOFFSO which expires on 8/1/2011.

Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil provides levels of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids not commonly found in pet foods. It is a great multi-purpose supplement rich in EPA and DHA that help maximize skin and coat health, promote a strong immune system and support joint function. It contains only pure oil from wild, non-farmed Alaskan salmon stabilized with rosemary, a natural antioxidant that promotes freshness, purity and taste. It does NOT contain PCB contaminants, mercury or other heavy metals.

Omega-3 fatty acids such as DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) and EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) help reduce inflammatory skin reactions in dogs. These two important fatty acids are found in high levels in fish oil. Only omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil have been shown to reduce inflammation.

Omega-6 fatty acids, including linioleic acid, help maintain the epidermal water barrier function of the skin. This may explain why instances of dry, dull hair coat and scaling, non-pruritic skin disorders in dogs generally respond to the addition of vegetable oils to the diet.

Directions for Use: One (1) pump per 10 lbs of body weight daily. One pump is equal to approximately 4 ml or 1/2 teaspoon.Sources

What did Fred think?
I put this on his food and he gobbled it right up.  I think he actually ate quicker than he usually does which is a good sign.

Their website is very user friendly and easily organized by area for Dogs and Cats.  I suggest you check it out.  I also highly suggest checking out their Deal of the Month Page here:  http://www.bestpethealth.com/pages/Deal-Of-The-Month.html

And you can become a Fan on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/bestpethealth and follow them on Twitter @bestpethealth  On there they do giveaways and answer product questions.
Disclosure:  I received the Alaskan Salmon Oil for Dogs in exchange for this review.

6/21/11: Juice in the City to Launch in Boston in August!

I already introduced you to Juice in the City earlier in a post, but I wanted to let you know that the official launch will be at some point in August!  They offer all kinds of deals, from kid's activities, to items for Mom, but only from local stores and not chains.  Here are some examples of previous deals that Local Business Consultants have found.  Here is one with some nice clothing.
 Kid's activities.
 And yummy food!
Juice in the City is still looking for moms in Brookline/Newton/North End and Beacon Hill to become Local Business Consultants.
A LBC knows the local community, the local hot spots, the places to go and has ties to local vendors. The whole point of Juice in the City is to attract moms within their area participate more with their surroundings, get them out of the house and go have fun! LOCAL businesses are preferred as opposed to chains, rarely do we ever source deals for companies like Starbucks or Target. We know spending money in the community means the money STAYS in the community.
Do you want to work at a home based career and spend more time with your family? Do you want to make your own hours? Do you want to support local businesses in your community? Interested in joining a community of smart, fun women?

Then go ahead and apply to be a Local Business Consultant here.

6/19/11: Happy Father's Day and Fun at the Roger Williams Zoo

First off, Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband John and my Dad!  Here is a link to a Father's Day Tribute that The Papa Post did.  John's picture is around 1:20.
For Father's Day this year we went to the Roger Williams Zoo for the fourth time.  It is one of our favorite Zoos.
The Elephants were really cool.
And the Giraffes.  We found out one was sent to Animal Kingdom in Disney World from Roger Williams Zoo.
What a cute Teddy Bear!
And Mommy's favorite animal.
The kids loved this bird who turned his head.
This Anteater was super cool.
And the Zebras.
What a lovely Zoo!
