9/16/13: Truck Day in Burlington

This is our 8th year in a row going to Truck Day in Burlington at the Common.  The kids have so much fun every year at this event.  Plus I feel like it gets bigger every year.  This was my favorite, a truck lifting a truck.
Lauren checking out the Fire Truck.
 Evan in the Fire Truck.
Oh no, Lauren got locked up.
The State Police are hot on her trail.
Evan checking out some big tractors.
Lauren having fun sliding down one of the trucks.
For some reason sliding down this truck is a highlight for many of the kids.
Evan feeling like a big guy in the huge trucks.  Of course he loved beeping the horns!
Lauren working some equipment.
Lauren is getting scooped up.
 Evan driving another big truck.
 Lauren was having a blast!
Such cool trucks!
And ambulances.
A huge thanks to Crescio Trucking that was the truck for our school float in the Yankee Doodle Parade on Saturday.
What a wonderful day to experience so really cool vehicles, enjoy the wonderful weather and see some friends.

9/10/12: Truck Day in Burlington

This is our 7th year in a row going to Truck Day in Burlington at the Common.  We love it!  Though I could do without all the beeping.
Here is Evan standing in front of the Fire Truck that is modeled on his shirt.
 Sitting in the Fire Truck.
Evan loves Fire Trucks.  He had his birthday two years in a row at the Fire Station and it was a big hit.  Check with your local station and see if this is a possibility to bring kids in for a tour.  We did that for an hour and then back to the house for food and cake.
We met up with our neighbors and took a picture with them.
This was super cool, Evan got to turn this vehicle on.  He was psyched.
 Lauren sitting up high.
 Evan having fun.
They really enjoyed sitting in these.
 Lauren posing for me.
Evan is going to get the bad guys!
They had such a blast plus we got to see tons of friends so it was a great day.

6/24/11: Big Wheels at the Library and Cars 2!!!!

We had a busy day today.  It started out with this morning going to the Wilmington Library for the Big Wheels event.  This is a great event, but due to "Day Out With Thomas" falling on the same day as this each year, we could never attend.  This year Edaville cancelled this event so we could go.  You can see the difference from when we went in 2008 here.  While we were there we met up with a friend and then had a playdate and their house which was fun.  The kids painted bird houses and clip boards that became frames.  Very cool.  And being how anal I am about painting in the house, I kept close eye with paper towels in hand.
Evan posing for me.
And of course Lauren is always posing.
 Evan in a big Excavator.
The police cars were a big hit.
Lauren feeling like a big girl.
In the Fire Truck.  As you may remember Evan wants to be a Fire Fighter and had two birthday parties at the Fire Station, so this is always a hit for him.
As if that wasn't enought, we of course had to go to opening night for the much anticipated Cars 2!  We went to see it at the IMAX theatre in Jordan's Furniture.  It was really cool to feel the rumble in the seat, have the movie on a huge screen and be in 3D.  It sold out the 500 seat theatre.  I could have possibly been more excited than the kids to see it.
I don't want to give much away, but we did like the movie, Evan was giggling away during it too.  John liked the original more, I say they are very hard to compare as they were so different.  I did also enjoy the Toy Story short at the beginning, it was hysterical.
What a way to start off Summer vacation, despite the misty weather!
