6/21/15: Fellowes Saturn Laminator From Shoplet

There are so many items that I want to protect like art that the kids make, pictures, newspaper articles and more.  Recently I was lucky enough to receive the Fellowes Saturn 3i 95 Laminator from Shoplet and it works great and is so easy to use. 

Here is the laminator out of the package.  I was worried it would be difficult to setup, but it was super easy.  Basically I had one metal piece to hook on the back for output, then plug it in and turn it on.  That was it!

Once turned on the lights all cycled through and then about a minute later it beeped and the 3 mil stayed lit up.  Now you know it is ready to use.  It also comes with some laminator pouches so I was already to go.  My kids art had just come home from school so I thought they would be some great items to start with.

First I put in an art piece my son made.  All I had to do was put the art piece in to the lamination pouch.  Then line it up with the feed for the paper size with the sealed portion going in first.

The paper feeds itself through and is done laminating within under a minute.

Here is our first finished product.  This will come in handy for school also as I am the President of the PTO.  One of our coordinators for the holiday fair recently went to a local copy store and paid $50 for laminating volunteer tags. We can use this for many events at school.  I know next year I will be using it for the Art Show I run for the grade labels that I end up reprinting every year.

Then Lauren decided she wanted to laminate one of her art pieces.

It was so easy she could do it.

3/22/15: Avery Labels from Shoplet

Shoplet has some wonderful office supplies and at great prices.  I have used Avery products many times and have always loved them.  I was very happy to receive some of their shipping labels from Shoplet for review.

I received a variety of their shipping labels.  I love the brown color of these Shipping Labels.  It makes it look like you have printed right on to the box.

I have used these TrueBlock Shipping Labels for the last five years for our school art show.  I printed them and stuck them to index cards to label the art.  I found the templates online from Avery very easy to find.  Plus there is an Avery Wizard that can be downloaded and used with Microsoft Word and Excel to create your labels.  It makes it simple to bring in an Excel list and format it for these labels.

These Shipping Labels With Paper Receipts are awesome.  The TrueBlock Technology is great as it blocks out what is behind it.  Plus they are so easy to print on to.

Living in New England we have lots of snow and bad weather.  These WeatherProof Mailing Labels are awesome as they are super strong and can handle the elements.  Plus I had no issues with them getting jammed in the printer.

What I also love about Avery is their support of Box Tops for Education.  As a PTO President I am very aware of the benefits of Box Tops to our schools and love to collect them.  I love that Avery has two on their packages!

5/19/14: Shoplet Samsill iPad Holder and D-Ring Binder

My kids love playing with the iPad.  The funny thing is the iPad was my birthday present yet I never use it.  The kids are always using it for Minecraft or other games.  As you know kids can be hard on electronics.  When we first got the iPad we got a case from Apple.  Since then the case has ripped in many places and would not stay on.  I was very excited when Shoplet offered to send me the Samsill Fashion iPad Holder.

I absolutely love it and so do the kids.  It is much more sturdy than our other case.  It looks good and has a magnetic smart cover that wakes and puts the iPad to sleep by opening and closing it which is great as the kids never turn it off.

It is versatile and works with the iPad 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation.

The kids love that it has an adjustable stand feature.  You can position it easily at different angles to view.  The kids use this everytime they are watching a video together.  No more complaining about one of them holding it.

It feels much more substantial than the case we used to have that came directly from Apple.  Plus the cutouts for the camera, ports and controls are perfectly sized.  Especially the camera cutout which does not interfere with the camera's operation.  It is hard to see but it also has a diamond texture on the case that makes it look even nicer.  It sells for only $23.85 on Shoplet.  It also comes in several other colors.    

I also received the Samsill Top Performance DXL Locking D-Ring Binder With Label Holder in Burgundy.  When handling it I could tell it was a high quality binder.

It also has a curved back spine which I had never seen before.  This spine design received a Comfort Certification from US Ergonomics. The D-ring clips are easy to open and it also has a label holder.  It looks compact but can hold 250 sheets.  Great to store all my papers for the school PTO that I am the President of.  It sells for $8.80 at Shoplet here.

9/6/12: Shoplet House of Doolittle Calendars Review

Even with your laptop, and mobile devices sometimes it is nice to have your daily calendar written out along with notes you might want to make.  I received a House of Doolittle Wirebound Weekly/Monthly Planner from Shoplet.com for review that I wanted to share with you.

 I am the President of our School's PTO and when I am in meetings I need to take notes.  This is a perfect way to capture them and also look at the calendar to schedule out future events.  The book is a good size at 8 1/2 X 11 inches giving plenty of room to add information.

 I also received the House of Doolittle Two-Color Monthly Desk Pad Calendar w/ Large Notes Section.  It is hard to tell from the picture by the corners are a deep blue.  My job is as a Project Manager.  Because we have so many dependencies on other projects and times we cannot port code due to Quarter ends this is a great way to capture all of that and have it in my office as a visual for planning.  Plus they are only $5.58 which is really affordable.

6/29/12: Shoplet Planner and File Folders Review

No matter how much technology influences your life there is still a need to sort and file important papers you receive.  They can be forms from the Pediatrician, Tax Forms, or just kid's papers.  I found a super cool Pendaflex Ready-Tab Reinforced Hanging Folder with new Lift Tab Technology that from Shoplet.com for review that I wanted to share with you.

I am not sure about you but we always have hanging folders around the house however I can't find the labels and tabs.  Then when I go through our folders it is so hard to figure out what is what since some lose their tabs or were never labeled in the first place.  With the new lift tabs your label is already built in!  All you have to do is pull it up. 

You can then use a permanent sticker label or write directly on to the label.  The tabs are also angled so they are easy to read.  What a cool idea and they will never come out.  If you want to check out other Hanging File Folders from Shoplet you can check them out here. 

I also received the Pendaflex Divide it Up File Folder.  This is another wonderful idea.  I always want to separate things within a folder.  I do this with the kid's papers.  I like to put their Report Cards in one section, then Tests, then art papers.  This is a way to be able to sort papers in the same folder.  You can check out all File Folder products here.

The last item I would like to mention is the Ampad Project Planner.  My job is as a Project Manager.  When I am in meetings I need to take lots of notes and Action Items.  Sometimes my screen is being displayed to the team so I cannot take notes electronically.  This is the perfect way for me to capture all of this information.

I love that they have a separate area on the side for Actions.  Here is some more information:

5/19/12: Shoplet.com Office Suplies Review

If your house is like ours pens and office supplies are constantly disappearing.  Every time I go to look for a pen there is never any to be found.  I was lucky enough recently to receive some cool pens and highlighters from Shoplet.com for review that I wanted to share with you.

I received two products made by Sharpie.  I personally love the Sharpie brand as we use it a lot around house labeling things.  I did not even know that Sharpie made anything but markers so this was a cool surprise.  The Sharpie Premium Pen is a wonderful pen that is also permanent and easy to write with.  You can check out other permanent markers here.

 It wrote similarly to a black felt tip marker and I really liked the weight it had.  I was impressed at how durable it looked and quite classy.  This pen will definitely be staying next to our checkbook on our desk to have at all times.

Another item from Sharpie is their Gel Highlighters.  These may look like normal highlighters from the outside, but just wait.  These are really unlike anything you would ever expect.  There are other highlighters here.

Some information about them: 

- Features gel stick technology which provides the strongest smear protection across pen and marker inks and ink jet printouts Won't dry out if left uncapped or bleed through paper.
- Works great on all paper surfaces, including glossy or thin papers.
- Conforms to your handwriting style and writes as long as a traditional pen-style highlighter.

Look at the cool gel tips.  I really liked the way they highlighted and love that they don't dry out if left uncapped.  With kids around so many of our markers dry out due to being left open so this is perfect in our house.  I also think it is really cool that they can be used on glossy paper.  I scrapbook a lot and this will come in handy there.

The last product I received was the Paper Mate InkJoy 700 RT Ballpoint Pen.  These really did write well and had great weight to them.  They also have lots of cool Ballpoint Pens on their website.
