1/17/13: Shari's Berries for Your Sweetheart and Family

Valentine's Day is coming up soon and it is time to start thinking about gifts for your sweethearts, and kids.  My favorite gift that my husband gets me every Valentine's Day is chocolate covered strawberries.  Shari's Berries delivers awesome combinations of this dipped treat.
I decided to order the 4 Dipped Cookies and a Dozen Valentine's Strawberries which comes with 1 Oatmeal Raisin dipped cookie, 1 Macadamia Nut dipped cookie, 2 Chocolate Chip dipped cookies, 4 Strawberries dipped in milk chocolate with red and white swizzles, 4 Strawberries dipped in dark chocolate with heart sprinkles and 4 Strawberries dipped in white chocolate with heart sprinkles.
The website was super easy to use and I was amazed at the variety of chocolate dipped products they had.  Don't be fooled by their company name, they have so much more than just strawberries.  There are chocolate dipped pretzels, potato chips, apples, cookies, cherries, marshmallows, and more.  There is Cakes, Cupcakes, Cake Pops, Cookies, Cheesecake, and even gift baskets.  You also select your delivery day when you order so that you know when they are coming.  They will want you to be there to receive them up when they arrive.  I was very impressed at how well they were packaged.
They include an ice pack on top and lots of padding to protect them during the shipping process.  Ours arrived in perfect condition.
I love that we could all share them.  My husband loves white chocolate and the kids like milk chocolate so there was something for everyone.
Look at how beautiful and large they are!
THEY TASTE AS GOOD AS THEY LOOK!
If you go to http://www.berries.com/coupon-codes.aspx you can find coupons to use on your order.
 Absolutely awesome!
Don't forget to follow their directions on the box though, if not you might not get any since they go fast.
I really enjoyed their packaging.

1/15/13: Shutterfly Valentine's Cards Giveaway and Twitter Party

CONTEST CLOSED:  CONGRATULATIONS TO PATRICIA FOR WINNING!
It is hard to believe that Valentine's Day is a month away.  I have such fond memories of sharing Valentine's Day Cards with my friends when I was little and now my kids absolutely love sharing Valentine's with all of their friends.  I especially like it as it gives them practice writing and my son always makes sure to write neatly on his cards.  Especially the one for the girl he likes at school!  Don't you love hearing them talk about their little crushes.  This is most apparent on Valentine's Day.  I remember one year my son having a crush on a little girl in another class.  He made sure to make her a card and pick the best one for her.  I went in for the party.  I was in hysterics when another little girl came up to him, sat next to him and put her arms around him.  He was so embarrassed because it wasn't the girl he liked.  Too cute!
Since I am sure your kids need plenty of Valentine's Cards for classroom parties and to share with their friends I wanted to provide you a giveaway for some from Shutterfly! I am giving away 50 – 4x5 Stationery Cards – these are small classroom cards and a 5.5x5.5 Desktop Plaque to one lucky reader!
Also Shutterfly is having a Twitter Party where you can win more prizes.
Join Shutterfly at their  #SFlyValentinesTwitter party on 1/17 at 2 PM EST. For more info and RSVP: http://resourcefulmommy.com/11427/shutterfly-valentines-day-twitter-party/
Shutterfly has such beautiful Valentine's Day Card Designs.  They have 50 new designs this year!  I personally love this one:
Look at how adorable this stationary card is.  They have all sizes: 6x8, 5x7, 4x8, 5x5, 4x5. You can include personal photos or not, it is up to you.  There are so many options!
And for your little Princess, how cute are these?  You can check out the Shutterfly Blog for more.
And if you are looking for a Valentine's Gift, Shutterfly has you covered with their photo gifts for Valentine's Day.  Photo Books are awesome.  I made one for my husband.  Most of our pictures needed to be scanned in, but what a beautiful keepsake and he loved it as a Valentine's Day Gift.
This is my favorite - the iPhone Cases!  Here is mine, I love it and I get so many compliments on it.

The 5.5X5.5 Plaque look really cool that you could win.  I hope you and your family have a wonderful time picking out their Valentine's Day cards.

CONTEST CLOSED:  CONGRATULATIONS TO DONNA FOR WINNING!  THANKS TO THE GREAT RESPONSE YOU CAN STILL BUY MARY KAY PRODUCTS AT 15% OFF AND FREE SHIPPING.  CHECK OUT THIS POST.
If you are like me your hands get dry in the winter.  I have a mild case of eczema which gives me pealing on my hands in heat or cold.  It used to make it very difficult when I cheered.  All that clapping with dry hands was not a good mix.  I have tried many products to help my hands but none worked very well, or I couldn't stand the smell.  I also have allergies to scents so the smells can sometimes make me sneeze.  I wish they had Mary Kay Satin Hand's when I was younger.  It is wonderful and scent free!
Thanks to my wonderful friend Pam who is a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant you have a chance to win this wonderful set!
What a great gift to pamper yourself on Valentine's Day or to give someone.
Come on and support a local Mom and check out
Satin Hands Pampering Set is an easy, everyday treat for hands to leave them feeling smooth and soft instantly.  The hand softener helps maintain the natural moisture of the skin and replenishes hydration in dry areas, the satin smoothie cleanses and exfoliates in one step, and the hand cream provides complete 24 hour moisturization.  It even lasts through hand washings.
It is a three step process.  You start with the Hand Softener.
Then use the Satin Smoothie Hand Scrub.  This part is my favorite.
And then finish with the Hand Cream.
What a wonderful set of products.  I absolutely love them and have seen an improvement in the dryness in my hands.
You can check out a short video here on Satin Hands.

CONTEST CLOSED:  CONGRATULATIONS JESSICA B.  ENJOY YOUR BOOK!
Well now that the Christmas decorations are down (we took ours down today) and we have rung in the New Year I thought I would share some great Valentine's Day Gifts with you.  I have bought numerous books from I See Me.  They are wonderful personalized books for any special child in your life.  They make wonderful baby shower gifts as you can personalize them with a dedication from you.  Evan has the "My Very Own Name" book that spells out his name with animals, and Lauren has the "My Very Own Fairy Tale" book with lots of fairy princesses.  Recently they have come out with a "Who Loves Me" personalized book.  How adorable for Valentine's Day!  You can take a virtual tour of the book here.
One thing I love is that you can add multiple people.  There are 6 spreads of pages making up a 20 page book.  To add more people you can put Mommy and Daddy as 1 and have room for 5 more.  I included both Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles.  And I was able to write the book to both children in one.  As you can see here they were reading the book together.
I love it!  It is so adorable!

2/9/11: Slacker Mom or Burnt Out?

Lauren had her Valentine's Day party at daycare today and it exposed something about me which gave both me and my daycare provider a laugh given the former Gilda. The day has come that I was the slacker Mom of the group. Lauren came home with her bag of loot from the party receiving books/candy/cards/goodies from all the kids, and what had I sent? A simple Princess Valentine with a glitter sticker. But am I the slacker? It could be viewed that way, but instead I think I have gotten a little burnt out. There are so many parties and things going on. Evan has a party at school, Lauren has a party at school and at daycare. I was just happy to get the kids to write out that many Valentine's. Between all the kids at school, daycare, and friends there were so many. I do remember in the past us making cute little heart pins for everyone at daycare. But, that was when I just had the kids at daycare to give to.

Note that I am the one that has volunteered for every party at preschool over the last 3 years, and goes crazy planning birthday parties. I always ensure there is a theme with matching music, cake, handmade candy, decorations and well thought out crafts/favors. I made personalized CDs the last two years for Lauren's birthday and last year made my most challenging cake.
And even made two cakes for Evan's birthday and cupcakes for the party and for the fire fighters.
And one year took hours to make this invitation with Evan's face.
I went as far as to have toilet paper with paw prints on it for Evan's 1st birthday with a Blue's Clues theme. I make sure to do crafts for every holiday, scrapbook for both kids, and blog about them.

I continue to stay involved now by being part of Evan's kindergarten parent teacher association. I volunteered at the Holiday Fair, designed the buttons, and now got signed up to be the coordinator for the Art Fair.

This is a lovely flashback picture of the kid's first Valentine's day together.
Luckily this morning as I lay in bed I remembered it was the Valentine's party today and made sure to switch out the all brown outfit with a red dress. Wow the embarrassment if I forgot to put an appropriate red outfit on her too. (Note again I am the one that makes sure the kids have outfits to match every thing we go to - Zoo they wear animal clothes, Disney obviously character clothes, etc). It gives me a laugh that I am maybe relaxing my expectations of myself and don't have to do it all. I have been known as an Activity Mom, but a slacker, I think not. I guess we are all entitled to have an off day.
Oh how the mighty have fallen. :-)

We started Valentine's Day with pancakes with I Love You written on them in frosting. Then we went off to Ice Skating and since John was away at his annual Movie Marathon I took the kids to Chuck e Cheeses for some fun. Evan and Lauren got a big hug from Chuck e Cheese.
We played lots of games and got lots of tickets and some toys.

2/10/10: Evan's School Valentine's Day Party

Evan had his Valentine's Day party today at school. Brought back such fond memories of handing out cards as a kid and getting so excited to receive them. He was so cute. He has a little crush on one of the little girls and it was adorable to watch him. Here he is giving everyone a box of conversation hearts.
And he got to dress weather girl.
And the best part receiving Valentine's Cards. He was so excited, with his Penguin Bag. Evan handed out Lightening McQueen ones with Pencils and Free Ice Cream cone coupons from Friendly's.
