Stone Zoo Brick Safari Fun

We love going to the Stone Zoo and my son has always loved LEGOs. When I heard both were combined I couldn't wait to go! Brick Safari, presented by Metro by T-Mobile, has over 40 life-size animal sculptures made from millions of colorful bricks to be on display from October 12 through January 5. 

As you stroll along the paths of the zoo you can see your favorite animals in LEGO form and in real life.

The creations are quite impressive. As we went through the zoo we would places guesses on how many bricks were used in each animal. I won't tell you what the elephant has but it has the most!

Love the parrots too. Sometimes you have to do a double take if it is bricks or the real thing.

Every animal sculpture, built by BRICKLIVE, relies upon thousands of bricks to keep it strong, and each brick has a part to play. Our ecosystem is much the same way – every species, large and small, plays a crucial role in a balanced ecosystem. As species are removed, the system weakens. We invite you to become a biodiversity builder!

Stone Zoo Baby Snow Leopards

I have been visiting the Stone Zoo since I was little. I have fond memories of this Zoo and over the years there have been worries that they would close but now they are better than ever. The Zoo is so clean and fresh looking. Plus we were so excited to see the new Snow Leopard Cubs that were only recently added to the exhibit with their Mom!

The Snow Leopard Cubs Pandora and Naphisa and their Mom Kira are so beautiful! They were born in May and recently added to the exhibit in mid-August.

We also liked the Jaguar.

He was really close to the glass. 

There was a service dog there that was really intriguing the Jaguar. 

I love the area with the flamingos and parrots.

These parrots are beautiful and they were very vocal.

I love this guy. He climbed right in to his bowl. 

This is the enclosure for the birds. 

Another beautiful animal, the Lynx. 

A cool alligator.

Dinosaurs Invade the Franklin Park Zoo

I love exploring attractions in our own backyard. The Franklin Park Zoo is always a fun place to visit and we always see something new. This year the dinosaurs have invaded and they will be in Destination Dino until September 3rd!

  We visited and "explored the roar" and had fun! Head towards the Aussie Aviary and you will find the entrance to Destination Dino.

Explore and learn as you wander through this step back in time to when the Dinosaurs roamed.

Experience the sounds and the spray of these wonderful dinosaurs.

So cool!

Another area we love to visit is the gorillas. First we take a picture outside with the statue and then head in.

I love this guy.

This gorilla had a stuffed animal he was holding, it was so cute.

A first for me was to see the lion awake. Usually he is sleeping.

So gorgeous.

I also love the Red Panda.

What a sweet face.

Lauren had fun pretending to be a red panda.

The kids climbed this structure to get a good view of the giraffes.

There is also a Butterfly Hollow exhibit. We didn't visit but it looked really cool. It is newly decorated with fairy houses.

 They also have a wonderful playground area.

The Zebras are so cool.

There is also a barnyard area.

There is so much to do and see! Make sure to visit the Franklin Park Zoo and see the dinosaurs before they are extinct!
