11/4/13: Battroborg Battling Robots by TOMY

Next up in my Holiday Gift Guide is one of Time to Play Mag's Most Wanted Holiday Items Battroborg Battling Robots by TOMY.  These are fun for kids and I have to be honest, they are fun for adults.  I had some fun battling with them.
We received the Battroborg 3-in-1 Battle Arena which includes Clopto vs. Cobalt.  It has 2 motion controlled robots and an arena.
These days kids are so used to motion controlled remotes and games so this is second nature for them.  It is super fun to play as you use the Nanchaku Controller to make your robot battle the other robot.
Evan thought that the Battroborgs robots were really cool looking and had lots of fun battling my husband.
Lauren then joined in the fun.  What brother and sister don't want to battle each other with robots?
The Battroborg 3-in-1 Battle Arena offers multiple ways to play and each Battroborg can battle in three different competitive game modes. Combat mode allows for head-to-head battle against an opponent. Battle boot camp allows players to master the art of combat by taking on the training drones. The other game play options include Autodrone mode where players can battle against a self-activated Battroborg robot or Tag mode where a self-propelled Battroborg robot chases other Battroborgs.
The robots do look really cool when they are battling in the ring and light up to determine when they have been knocked out and when they are ready to battle again.
The robots are easily charged with the remote.  They basically plug in to the back area of the robot.  The lights turn to know that they are fully charged.  They are true to the times they report, they last about 20 minutes and charge in about the same amount of time.
Here are all the different Battroborgs that they have.
Here it is as packaged.  It is definitely a super cool toy for this holiday season that you should check out.

4/20/12: TOMY Dinosaur Train Arctic Adventure Motorized Train Set Review

What a brilliant idea when they came up with a show to combine two things little boys love - Dinosaurs and Trains!  My son loves them both.  TOMY has some great toys to go along with the show including the  Dinosaur Train Arctic Adventure Motorized Train Set.
The engine requires 2 AAA batteries and you start and stop the train by pushing on the orange smokestack. The set also comes with three collectible dinosaurs Mr. Conductor, Tiny Pteranodon and Travis Troodon. The plastic figures have a small hole on the bottom of their feet that press in to a peg on the train cars.  Evan had a little difficulty with them at first but then figured it out.
I met TOMY and got to see their cool new products at Toy Fair and I am happy I can share this one with you.  Here it is in action.
There is a little bridge piece that is made of cardboard.  At first it worked OK but then it kept falling over so Evan took it off.
 Playing with the Dinos.
Here is some video of him with the train in action.
Evan decided his Angry Birds should go for a ride so here they are.
As Evan would say - Angry Birds are sold separately.
Here it is in the package:
And here are the details from TOMY on the set:
Based on the hit Emmy®-nominated PBS KIDS series Dinosaur Train, TOMY has developed an extensive line of original Dinosaur Train toys under the Company’s licensing agreement with The Jim Henson Company. All aboard for Arctic adventures! This motorized train set teaches kids that dinosaurs had just as much fun playing out in the snow as they do frolicking in the forest. This set comes with three collectible figures, two Arctic cardboard destination tunnels, an all-new snow covered Pteranodon Station, and over eight feet of track! Ages: 3 and up. MSRP: $24.99–$29.99
